Carmel Sushi Reviews
I haven’t come here in over a year, but I think it’s time to address my issues. Back then I used to think it was decent, definitely not the most authentic sushi, but it was still pretty good. I still think it’s okay, but I feel like the quality and portions of food are inconsistent, some days it tastes good and some days it tastes like 💩. The drinks are good and overall I think this place is okay but just fix the portions and quality. 👍
The food was delicious. The owner was very kind and took our order right as we sat. The sushi tasted fresh. Overall a good experience.
We’ve been coming to Carmel Sushi since before the new owners took over years ago. They are always refining what they serve, and today was no exception. Fresh wasabi with my sushi was a welcome surprise! For a little local Sushi/Korean restaurant, they are hitting it out of the park.

Carmel Sushi offers excellent service with friendly staff and delicious food. The yakisoba plate with tender beef is a great choice, and the chirashi sushi bowl is highly recommended and did not disappoint. The restaurant serves a decent Soon Do Bu and crispy rice, which is popular with kids. Japanese cuisine is featured alongside Korean items like Yellowtail Sashimi, sashimi donburi with gochujang sauce, and rolls such as Sensual Pleasure and Hamachi Lover. The staff is attentive, ensuring a positive dining experience. Guests can enjoy good parking and a warm atmosphere, making this a popular spot in Carmel Valley. Visitors often praise the fresh sushi, quick service even during busy times, and the friendly attitude toward bringing pets. The Wango Mango is a favorite, fresh with a perfect mix of sweet and savory flavors. Miso soup and a side salad came with entrees, and the sushi didn’t take long. The food is consistently great sushi/poke at a reasonable price point.
