Located in the Gaslamp Quarter, Chocolate Cafe is a must-visit for chocolate, ice cream, and sweet treats. The gelato felt like authentic Italian gelato, though some found it not smooth and with a bland flavor. An excellent pistachio gelato was enjoyed in an open and pleasant atmosphere. The chocolate desserts are rich and delicious, and the ice cream is some of the best in San Diego. The strawberry nutella crepe was a good crepe, not too soft and full of Nutella and strawberries. The ham, egg, and cheese crepe, croissant, and Americano coffees were all very good. The cappuccino was perfectly balanced. The atmosphere is fun, cozy, and perfect for a late-night dessert. Service was friendly and helpful, and prices are reasonable with generous servings. A downside was the bathroom, which was wished to be a bit cleaner. Overall, it is a good quick stop for breakfast or a sweet treat.
