We drive from Chula Vista for their food. We live across the street from Lolita's, but Lucita beats them easily for quality, flavor, salsa, and hospitality. Their burritos are made with care and each bite has uniformity and flavor. The lady/ owner takes your order then makes the food.Check out the comparison pic to Lolita's and you'll see what I mean. I also love their carne asada fries. I've been here 5 times now and they consistently deliver!
Was in the area and passed by Lucita's TACO Shop. Saw a few Mexicans inside waiting for their food, so figured it must be decent. (Hey, my last name ends with a vowel so I can say that.) Read the Yelp reviews and a few people said this is the best Taco shop in California - obviously those folks are active participants in Proposition 64; and then on the other side of the spectrum people saying the opposite. Stopped in for a breakfast burrito. Asked for fries but still got potatos in it. Girl was really nice. Hot sauces were flavorful and spicy. I’d stop in again when passing through the area.
