Szechuan Mandarin, where are you??? I flew in today from SF, excited to take some egg drop soup with crispy wontons back with me ..... and I see you're closed now. . Is this permanent (I hope not). I'm from the area and I've been a loyal patron for almost 40 years! Your food is the best, the servers (who have been there as long as I've been coming in) are so pleasant & helpful. I'm so bummed. I hope everyone is well!! Know that you'll be missed!!! Erin in SF

I have a theory about Chinese Food. I grew up in San Francisco where Chinese food is a staple. Also, I am a quarter Chinese. What my hypothesis is, is this: if the service is Western in that they are amazing and attentive, yadda yadda yadda, then more often than naught the food is bland to mediocre at best. Tried this place out for the first time after a friend recommended it. I was telling her that I hadn't had really great Chinese food since moving from the east coast. So we ordered take out. I had the salt and pepper wings and an order of plain fried rice. The wings were a bit over salted but weren't terrible and unfortunately the rice wasn't seasoned much at all.
