The Pennant is a local spot on Mission Beach, described as a great beach dive bar from a bygone era. The bar is awesome and the staff is great, with super chill bartenders who are very, very nice. The vibe is great, with a cozy vibe and warm, dim lighting. The Mexican food in the back is quite good, and the food overall is really good. The biggest problem is hard parking, as there is no valet parking. It is a great place to watch the Charger game with a bunch of locals on a Sunday afternoon. A specific meal mentioned is the bullet coffee, with a recommendation to add a shot of screwball. The bar has a bouncer at the door and feels safe. It is a quiet place in the off season, and people can enjoy a game or a bike ride on the beach for sunset. Be respectful and enjoy yourself.
