Three Stars: [Decent Selections; Suffering Quality]
Summary: Although this boba shop has a good menu variety of drinks and snacks, the quality of the ingredients is noticeably poor.
I have gone to Bubble Queen many times over the course of a year or two since when they first opened on their own store front. From a “make your own” drink menu they evolved to a standard menu boasting a variety of milk teas, fruit teas, snacks, toppings, and more. The drink I frequent...read full review
I just got off the Caltrain and needed some caffeine. This is a short walk away and surprisingly their storefront is closed. They merged with the store next door.We ordered the Lychee Oolong Tea, which is decent. However, it definitely tastes like artificial lychee. Reminds me of those nostalgic lychee jelly cups I grew up eating from the grocery store. The oolong flavor is subtle and not too strong. The drink was refreshing, but I wouldn't personally recommend it.
I'm on the fence about this place. The food is really good, but it's expensive. I've only been once, but it was during happy hour, which is why I went. Bubble Queen is a convenient spot near the Caltrain station, although their storefront is merged with the store next door. They offer a large menu of drinks like Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea, and the popular Ube drink, along with snacks and toppings. The Lychee Oolong Tea tastes like artificial lychee but has a subtle oolong flavor reminiscent of nostalgic lychee jelly cups. However, while the menu has a good variety, some customers have noticed a drop in quality since the merger, leading to a lackluster experience with certain drinks. Orders are made digitally through a portal, and the staff's minimal interaction can result in items being served at different times. The food is delicious but pricey, especially during happy hour. There was a mix-up with an order once, but the staff made up for it. The quality of the drinks may warrant a second visit, although some reviews suggest caution due to past experiences.
