Decent happy hour. If you order correctly, you can get some good food for a great price.
I enjoyed basically all the sashimi we had, as well as the salmon and tuna handrolls. Could have done without the tendon stew.

Fresh fish and friendly staff
Phenomenal food, good vibes, kind/funny manager/chef. I miss the hand rolls, tostadas and Nigiri. My bf and I visited Bubu TWICE while we were on vacation in SF. We live in the Midwest. No one in the Midwest does hand rolls and sushi like Bubu 😭

BUBU is a restaurant in San Francisco known for its happy hour. The food is phenomenal, with good vibes and a kind, funny manager and chef. The sushi is fresh, and there are lots of different hand rolls to choose from. The salmon and tuna handrolls, sashimi, tostadas, and Nigiri are enjoyed. The salmon toro is a highlight, with thick cuts that melt in your mouth. The chirashi don is also really good, with nori on the side that has a strong wasabi kick. The Lion King and Big Bang rolls are classics that deliver, and the dynamite shrimp has a nice crunch with sauce that isn’t lacking. The tendon stew could have been done without. The baked roll lacked a bit of integrity. The ambiance has really nice Japanese bar vibes and is well decorated. The bathroom is fancy, with two private stalls leading to a decorated sink. The staff is amazing, with amazing hospitality. The waiter is nice and friendly. Food can take a little while to come out, and it can be hard to get a waiter’s attention, with service overall lacking. Rolls and appetizers are decent, and it can be fairly cramped inside. Prices are pretty reasonable for SF, and even better during happy hour. A group of five split a lot of hand rolls and happy hour food.
