Based on the reviews, Gao Viet Kitchen & Bar is a great spot for Vietnamese food in San Francisco. The pho is some of the best pho ever had, with a super clean and delicious broth and fresh house made noodles. Specific meals like the banh canh with pork, pho filet mignon, and the big gao pho with fall-off-da-bone beef rib are all really good. The banh cuon and garlic noodles 3 way were also 🔥. The mini pancakes (BÁNH KHỌT), shrimp spring rolls (GỎI CUỐN TOM), and Mama’s Clay Pot are also loved. The prices are definitely higher overall, but they use quality / high end ingredients and every portion is good for two people at least. The ambience is unique with the window shutter art, nice decor, fun vibe, and friendly service. It might be considered a medium to high price point but it's soo worth it. Reservations are a must as this place gets very busy.
