We accidentally found this place on Ocean Ave. It has a different name out front and kind of looks like a Chinese restaurant from decades ago. But the woman working there was friendly (she's been at it since 1985) and it's veg-friendly, so I gave it a go. The food was served fast and hot, the portions were huge (we took home for another meal), and it was delicious (kung pao tofu and friend green beans). I'm eager to go back to try more veg dishes!
It's not about the ambiance. It's about chicken fried rice with salted fish, snow pea leaves in garlic sauce as well as bitter melon with beef in garlic and black bean sauce. Shrimp and vegetables with stir fried noodles is also very good. In five months of eating here I never had anything I didn't like. I think the same couple have been running it for 35+ years.
