Hing Wang Bakery Reviews
This place is very authentic. The woman behind the counter is so friendly. The prices are amazing and the food is so authentic. My go to order is steamed barbecue pork buns, shrimp dumplings, and sesame balls. Ive also ordered the bamboo leaf wrapped rice and meat, and the baked pork buns. All good. I also love tjat they are open late. Make sure you have cash because they dont accept credit card.
The takeout trays are delicious and have great value. They fill the trays full. The noodles and entree items are delicious and not too salty, too oily, or too sweet like other takeout places. The aunties are very friendly. The dim sums were alright, but at those prices I have no complaints. Lastly, the rice porridge is very tasty. This place is cash-only.
Warm and delicious wonton soup!

Hing Wang Bakery is a local favorite that has been serving authentic Chinese comfort food and dim sum for over 30 years. This no-frills, mom-and-pop restaurant offers generous portions at an affordable price, with most dim sum options available for $3.50. The menu features a variety of options, including fully stuffed tofu, chicken dumplings, and veggies, as well as curry chicken, chicken drumstick, fried dumpling, shrimp and chive dumplings, and fried anchovies. The food is made with love and care, reminiscent of homemade cooking, and everything is seasoned nicely with perfect texture. While the ambiance may be lacking, the taste of the dim sum is "wonderful" and a quintessential San Francisco experience. The aunties are kind and cheerful, offering great value with combo plates that can feed two people, sesame balls, baked cha siu buns, fried rice, broad rice noodles, sweet and sour chicken, and fried fish. This cash-only establishment is a hidden gem, beloved by locals who appreciate its authenticity, cheap prices, and generous portions of shrimp, pork, and beef. With its convenient location and walkable distance from Golden Gate Park, Hing Wang Bakery is a must-visit for those craving delicious and affordable Chinese food.
