Lunch set is great value!
5 stars for value. We came here for a lunch special; had the sashimi and nigiri plates. Fish quality was solid and the portions with the rest of the things that come with the lunch special were great. If you are looking for a good value sushi restaurant, look no further. We will be back!
Think this is my 4th time here, I believe Bubu and Nono Baru have combined into one restaurant. Today I ordered only from the happy hour menu (4:30-6pm) since the non-HH options weren't too impressive last time. Basic hand rolls and apps are $3, with more premium options at $6-8. We noticed the happy hour menu had different options, and staff confirmed that it changes frequently (last time they did not have uni handrolls!).

NONO BARU is a restaurant with a fun energy, reminiscent of dining in Japan where chefs cut fresh fish in front of guests. The late night happy hour is awesome, with reasonable prices and an unbeatable menu. Great sashimi for $8, especially the tuna tataki, and solid hand rolls for $3-6. The skewers are fantastic, and the regular menu items like risotto and sukiyaki are both so good. The miso soup is super refreshing with a pretty big cup. However, experiences vary. Service can be a little slow at times, and one diner had to find a waiter. The kimchi udon carbonara was a little weird in flavor. Some dishes, like the salmon belly, were over oiled, and the crispy rice chicken bowl was super bland. The Thai tea boba was the worst. Ambience is pretty, but there were flies in the restaurant. Outside dining is great if you have a dog. The lunch special at $15 is a good value, and the bathrooms are very nice. This place is definitely worth a repeat visit for happy hour.
