Great spot. I listened to the other yelpers and got the vegan Aloo Palak DELICIOUS! I've never been a huge palak fan, this changed my mind. So good!!! A must order! The samosas were fine - nothing special but who's going to complain about samosas?? You order at the counter and then can grab a seat anywhere. It seemed a little competitive to get good seats so grab one when you can. People weren't staying too long though so you won't have to wait long for a table if at all.
hyderabadi dum biryani, cheese naan, nihari, all superb. not sure about authenticity because i’ve never traveled to the region but, dang, if it’s better than this i might have to move there. service is always good too, and the pay first, serve your own water/ utensils format is very convenient.

Honestly, I always enjoy my experience at Pakwan. My go to is their cheese naan, which in my opinion is the best naan in SF, possibly the bay. I usually accompany it with either an aloo mutter, bengan bartha, or a chicken tikka masala. Something that goes good with naan and is scoop-able.
