I've never had high hopes for hospital food, but this establishment surprised me -- in a good way. The layout consists of multiple stations offering a variety of cuisines on a rotating menu, much akin to the dining center I had in undergrad.The highlight of this cafe is the amount of variety it features. For a hospital cafeteria, the food at UCSF is pretty great. They have a menu that rotates daily, and they include many different kind of cuisines and local flavors, for a low price. However my personal favorite is the breakfast at UCSF, it usually costs about $6 for a full meal that keeps me full. The hash browns at UCSF are seriously my favorite hash browns ever- better than McDonalds or any other breakfast place I've tried.

I loved getting lunch here every weekday when I worked at this UCSF Health location! I mean, where else do you expect employees to get food or spend their lunch break? Yes, it's always crowded here during the 12pm lunch rush, but it's crowded at every restaurant or food place you go to at that hour so people shouldn't complain about how crowded or how difficult it is to find a seat at table.
