Taishan Cuisine Reviews
Big portion dishes!! The chicken was amazing. The lady wore 3 pairs of gloves so she could peel off the whole chicken for us. First time having the Cantonese-style whole chicken, so flavorful and juicy! The rice was well seasoned and so tasty.
We had the BEST time here, especially because of INCREDIBLE Shelly and her phenomenal family!! The food was all SPECTACULAR too - there wasn’t one thing that came out that we didn’t loooove and we tried a lot 🤤🙏 Shelly’s customer service and attentiveness was unmatched, she treated us and everyone who walked in the door with so much kindness and we couldn’t be more grateful! Taishan Cuisine is a cozy restaurant in San Francisco that offers delicious and authentic Taishan cuisine until 3 am daily. The service is quick, and the staff is friendly, creating a homemade feel. Customers appreciate the well-priced, tasty food and the welcoming atmosphere, although some note that the environment may seem a bit old. The family that owns the restaurant is hospitable, making it a great spot for a late-night dinner after enjoying mai-tais nearby.
The restaurant serves a variety of dishes that locals enjoy, such as the Taishan beef bone soup, coconut chicken soup, yellow eel clay pot rice with fresh water eels, pork noodle roll made in-house, and unique purple potatoes sesame balls. While some items may be seen as overpriced and cater more to tourists, many find the food super tasty and clean, with a relaxing and chill ambiance.
Although the service is noted as quick, there are mixed opinions about staff interactions, with some customers feeling that the service can be a bit rude, which they consider part of the charm of authentic Asian dining. While Taishan Cuisine may not cater to everyone’s preferences, it remains a favorite among those who appreciate genuine Taishan flavors.
