I visited with a friend who also doesn’t eat meat, so our options are a bit smaller. The flavors are excellent, and they make a regional cuisine (Shanxi) that’s unique and difficult to find.

Terra Cotta Warrior offers a unique dining experience with a relatively simple menu categorized into small plates, noodles, and buns. The flat wide noodles, like the Lamb Biang Biang noodles, are a highlight. The restaurant accommodates spice preferences and features a variety of dishes, including the popular 羊肉泡馍 (diced pita bread with lamb in soup), which is a specialty of Northern Chinese cuisine. The lamb burger is also a must-order. The portion sizes are generous, and side dishes like the spicy sliced beef and silky tofu with preserved eggs are refreshing. While parking can be a challenge in the neighborhood, the overall experience is enjoyable and worth a return visit. Service may be minimal, but the restaurant has become easier to access since it has quieted down post-COVID.
