We had a great meal with our friends. The firecracker shrimp and quail were spectacular.
We went to Happy Crane last night with a group for the tasting menu. Everything was exceptional - far and away the best meal we've had in SF in recent years. The tasting menu is a lot of food, so go hungry. They say it's five courses, but each course has multiple dishes. Preparation was terrific. Only limitation is that it's a little noisy so it's hard to hear if you are at a big table. We loved it and will go again.
The entrees were good (iberico + fish), and the tofu salad was interesting.
Nothing was super memorable, but overall a positive experience.
