Converted in 1967, this is one of the oldest gay bars in the Castro, but it doesn't look its age. That's because it's been renovated through several identity changes finally settling on the name Toad Hall in 2009 to capitalize on a bar scene in the film "Milk". Cheap and strong happy hour margaritas. Love the lighting and the deck. Toasty warm despite the stiff SF breeze. Attendance was a bit sparse but that just means people are missing out! Everyone should be here because the bartenders are friendly, the drinks are affordable and everyone is happy to see the dog.

I had a great time there last night! The music was nice, and there were lots of good-looking people. The environment was great; they had water available and easy to get self serve, which is always a good idea, but something I rarely see in bars like that. I will definitely come back.
