I'm on a mission to try all the vegan ramen in Japantown and Waraku is THE BEST!!!! I was hesitant about the impossible meat idea but holy moly this was amazing. The broth was incredible. Great service and atmosphere too!

This is the only place in SF that has Gluten Free Ramen. The food was swell, and the service and ambiance were great! We dropped by before a movie at the Kabuki, and it was kinda dead. By the time we left, it was packed. We'll definitely be going back!Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating to gluten free dining. We were thrilled!

My new favorite ramen spot! The black garlic ramen was rich and flavorful. Can’t wait to try the other broths!Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free noodles.

We ordered the Tan Tan Men, the tsukemen and the Kara-age. I thought the karaage was quite good: flavorful and seasoned in a light coating of breading. The Tsukemen, pictured, looked promising but unfortunately failed to deliver. The noodles themselves were sweet (like sugary sweet) which is unconventional in a way that did not help. The dip was almost a full bowl of broth which for Tsukemen was too watery. It was as if someone ordered a ramen and they just separated the noodle from the soup.Tsukemen soup dip should be thicker to coat the noodles.

Waraku gave me some of the best ramen I’ve had in SF, and I feel like I’ve had over a dozen ramen places here. I got the black garlic tonkotsu deluxe ramen and it didn’t miss. One really kind lady ran service for the entire restaurant and she was super kind to everyone. Atmosphere was very relaxing. Some groups, some couples, and some solos, just chill. Would totally come here again and I’d recommend this restaurant over any other ramen restaurant right now.

Being a lover or ramen and trying new foods, after looking up places online and their reviews, Wakaru was definitely a must try. The wait was not long at all for a table as I didn’t called ahead to make reservations. Order the kimchi cheese fries to start along w/ a Sukiyaki beef bowl the theRamen. I believe it was the tonkotsu ramen dx but can’t recall. All the food tasted delicious, fries were crispy. Next time I’m in town I’ll be coming back to try more food here. Can’t forget the bottle of Yuzu, sucks they don’t sell it back at my home town. Such a refreshing soda

Surprisingly great ramen! Chewy noodles and flavorful broth. Almost feels like I’m back in Japan. They’re very understaffed though.. so they probably won’t check in at all after you place an order. Service 3/5

Nice ramen spot. Food and service was really good! I had the Black Garlic Deluxe and my wife got the Spicy Tantan Deluxe. Huge portions. Only thing I didn't like was paying the bill. They stand there next to you with a machine and review the bill with you. Then when you go to pay the lowest tipping option is 18% AND it's calculated with the SF Mandate included. Kinda shady in that regard. Other than that, great place for a nice bowl of ramen!

Very short wait time for us on a weekend but the restaurant was still pretty busy! The food was great, very satisfying and flavorful. I forgot what ramen we got but it was pretty good. The chicken karaage was so bomb!! Very crispy and the mayo and lemon were great additions. The beef bowl was pretty good too but I would try other rice bowls next time. The chicken karaage is a must get. Parking is very hard to come by! You need to either park on the street or park in the public parking garage underneath the japantown mall. Come early to look for parking, it may be a challenge.

I came here twice, once by myself and then another time with my friends on Halloween. The ambiance here is definitely more of a date night spot in my opinion because of the lighting and music, but there are tables that can accommodate groups. I really love the tsukemen here. It's mouth watering and the exact type of flavors I like. The noodles are a little more sweet than salty, which I love, but if you're worried about it, the bamboo, bean sprouts, and burdock root helps to balance it out. The chashu is smoky and absolutely delicious. The dipping broth is just the right amount of salty and fatty, it goes so well with the noodles. Definitely squeeze the lemon slice into the broth for a whole new flavor. It's so much more balanced that way, but I do love the richness without it.If you're vegetarian please do be aware that you only have one choice of ramen and most of the appetizers. This place also has pepper and whole cloves of garlic on the table if you'd like to customize your food. The service I got on the day I went by myself was great, the servers were nice and courteous. When I went with a group it was a different waiter, and he did seem a little annoyed. I'm guessing it's because my friends looked a little suspicious standing outside the restaurant for awhile while waiting for the other half of the group.

The geso fry is really good! However the tsukemen is not authentic. The ramen is blended with soy sauce for some reason. And the broth is not thick and flavorful enough. The ajitama and bean sprouts were good though. Service is very nice, and the ambiance is decent.
