About Si Hai Restaurant

Si Hai Restaurant, known to locals for sweet or salty Soy Milk plus Buns and Pastries ordered at the counter, is located in San Gabriel. True to Taiwanese traditions, the restaurant is open from 6:30am until 1:00pm daily. Long-time customers note the food is really delicious when the chef is on it, but inconsistent quality and understaffing make the place hit-or-miss. 85-90% of the time, it serves pretty good TW deli food. Specific meals mentioned include sticky rice rolls fantuan, sticky rice wrapped in bamboo zongzi, turnip cakes luobogao, onion pancakes congyoubing, black sesame pastry, green onion pastry xiekehuang, and Fan Tuan, which is faultless in balance of taste and texture. The garlic soy sauce is delish. Low priced compared to breakfast in Los Angeles, portion sizes are mostly shareable.

I like the customer service - great Job 👏- Gotti
Really delicious when chef is on it. Long-time customer since they opened in San Gabriel. Unfortunately inconsistent quality, understaffing make this place hit-or-miss. I rarely eat in due to understaffing - bussing & cleaning take a while. 85-90% of the time pretty good TW deli food. I go there every 1-2 months.
