Yumee Katsu - San Jose Reviews
It's so delicious and great! Katsu and cold soba is awesome
Hubby and I gave this Katsu place a try the other day. Hubby loves it, he thinks that the pork katsu is better than Katsu Gin, our current favourite Japanese curry place. The curry contains cashew nuts, so it will be a no go for us. But all in all a good place. You order on an ipad at the table, so that is kind of cool. THe place does get busy at lunch.
Great spot for various katsu dishes. I really enjoyed my pork katsu. It was juicy and tender with the perfect amount of crunch. The cheese katsu was thick and cheesy but not overly oily or greasy, which I really appreciated. The shrimp was pretty standard but also good. I added a mini udon, which was enjoyable.

Yumee Katsu is a Korean Katsu restaurant in a popular plaza with a lot of different foods. The place is cozy, comfortable, and homey, and it feels like a family-owned restaurant. Customers order on an ipad or tablet at the table, and the food comes out quickly after ordering, though it can take a bit of time and the place does get busy at lunch. The menu has so many options to choose for Katsu. The pork katsu is juicy and tender with the perfect amount of crunch, and some think it is better than Katsu Gin. The cheese katsu is thick and cheesy but not overly oily or greasy, and the cheese stretched very long. The shrimp is pretty standard but also good. The katsu curry has katsu that is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, with a mixture of curry giving a bite of heat and the fluffiness of rice. The rose tteokbokki is satisfying with a contrast between crunch and bouncy, and the sauce is a smooth consistency. The chewy rice cakes melted in my mouth. Side dishes include kimchi giving that familiar korean taste, radish and salad for freshness, and soup for a salty finish. A mini udon is enjoyable. The curry contains cashew nuts. Service is kind and quick, and they bring the food out and leave you to eat. The only downside is difficulty parking. A combo katsu is recommended to try different types of katsu at once.
