I always fugo to this place when I’m around the area
I happen to be vegan so this is particularly appropriate for people like me… They have awesome. Vegan options here including the best vegan burrito with tofu I’ve ever had. Highly recommend recommended.

Taqueria Pancho Villa San Mateo is a really really good Mexican place, very reasonably priced for portions. It is a favorite Latino food in the bay, with tacos, burritos, and salsas all on point and consistent. The burrito is the highlight, and the prawn nachos are super delicious. Located in the heart of downtown San Mateo, it has a bright and airy interior where you can watch your protein being freshly grilled. There are a lot of veggies and condiments for tacos, burritos, and rice platters. Service is efficient, and the staff is very friendly. However, tables are small and low to the ground. Parking can be hard to find, though there are paid lots nearby.
