“I came here for lunch with my parents and had a great experience. We (ambitiously) ordered 4 entrees and a dessert for 3 people (spoiler alert: we didn't finish), but it was nice to try a variety of dishes. We ordered the Chef's Special Dry Chili Chicken, Pan Fried Egg with Tomato Soup, Fish in Sour Pickled Broth, Peapod Leaves, and the Golden Sesame Balls. Everything was great - freshly cooked, made with quality ingredients, and very flavorful without being overly salty or greasy. My favorite was probably the Chef's Special Dry Chili Chicken. Service was friendly and efficient. They don't have many waitstaff, but you save a lot of time by ordering and paying independently using a QR code system. Ambiance is simple but clean. Recommend a visit!“
“At first we were skeptical because of the seating arrangement, but after tasting the AYCE broth and meat we were amazed. The host whom we believe is the owner of the establishment was very interactive and attentive. Would we come back? Yes we will.“
“Ate here 2x before writing this review. This is a skewer hot pot place and there is definitely a learning curve the first time. There were so many selections on skewers that it was difficult to choose. The fridge had several levels that I didn't get a chance to notice them all until my 2nd time around. It's definitely a scavenger hunt each visit. There are some rare finds here that are generally not offered at other shabu places. Like duck blood, duck feet, bamboo fungus (pith), giant prawns, crab meat, etc. Nice To Meet You have it all in one easy to access fridge. We noticed more selections on weekends than weekdays, especially the duck blood. It really fresh and runs out fast. For the non-spicy people, there are definitely choices here. The broth comes with 2 choices (or you can go with one, same price) and we loved the beef and tomato broth, both are non-spicy. For meat choices we order off the menu AND we get skewered meat. The kids prefer Flat Iron Steak. Ribeye is pretty good too.Eating with skewers is fun. Definitely an experience. The Brown Sugar Sticky Rice Cake also hits the spot for sweet tooth lovers. Reminds me of the sticky rice cake at Night Markets. The seats are spacious and can accommodate large parties. If everyone in your party can eat spicy, then this is definitely a worthy spot to visit. But this is an awesome place for non-spicy people too.See my pictures for more tips.“
“Husband and I ordered the 9 section spicy hot pot in medium(?), it was quite spicy but extremely flavorful. Fresh beef, angus prime beef, hot pot noodles, the fish cakes with roe on it with "fortune" in Chinese on it, vermicelli noodles-- they were all good to eat in the deliciously spicy hot pot. We over-ordered and the wait staff gave us to-go containers. I am eating the leftover as I type in this review a day later. My stomach suffered a little I won't lie, but I can't wait to go back. Love it.The sauce/snack station is loaded. If they had fresh fruits that would be awesome. No other complaints.“
“The snack and sauce bar is self serve, the food is ordered through a web app and contact with staff is minimal. You can expect good quality and good sized portions for the price. However, it would not be the cheapest hot pot place in Irvine, do expect a two person meal to run over 60 or 70. Their broth choices are exception and the dish variety is wide. Definitely a must try.“
“A GREAT! Spot, with the nicest staff i was low on money and just wanted somethin kinda small and only had 12$ and she gavr mr another meal that costed more cuz she thought what i could afford wouldnt fill me up lol the sweetest staff ever! And the food was bomb!“
“The best Chong Qing cuisine in California!Must-try:- crispy cube chicken peppercorns- fried pork intestine in mala peppercornsMake sure to dine-in to enjoy the meal while its hot.A lot of parking, but few tables. Quick preparation time. Clean restroom with running water and fresh soap.Well done!“
“Accidentally found this place due to another place having a long wait nearby. No wait here so was a little skeptical. Glad we found it. This is a SzeChuan/YunNan regional style. Famous for spicy food and its noodles (云南过桥米线)as well. The food was authentic and had big portions. We got served free hot tea but were charged for a bowl of rice. Service was fast, food was on the table in less than 10 minutes.Ordered:1. Garlic pea leaves (蒜炒豆苗)- highly recommended for a vegetable dish.2. Shredded pork with garlic sauce (鱼香肉丝)- a safe choice , was ok, a little too sweet, but good portion.3. Boiled fish with tofu (清蒸豆花鱼)- the least favorite. The fish didn’t feel fresh and lack some flavor. I would go with the hot sauce one next time.Overall was not bad, felt we ordered the wrong food for this restaurant, so will return to try other dishes on the menu.“

“Trust me, take the highway to the Tasty Zone!! For those of you who are familiar with Szechwan food and it’s unique flavors, you’ll be so happy that you finally found THE place. The quality, portions, prices, spiciness/numbing—it’s all just so wonderful.“
