Sometimes you just need a classic donut, and if you are in Santa Barbara I recommend stopping by Eller's. Nothing overly fancy about these donuts, but they are solid with fluffy dough and delicious glaze and frostings. We got a half dozen to eat throughout out day and even 10 hours later, they were still fresh. Normally I take a picture, but there was no time for pictures, only eating!
While traveling my wife and I always try to find great donuts, not just pastries, but just great simple and classic doughnuts and Eller’s hit all the key points. The plain glazed raised and chocolate iced cake doughnut were some of the best we have had in sometime. I wish we could go back sooner than later. This is a must if looking for great quality and not the strange everything doughnut.
They have the absolute best glazed donut I have ever had. Nothing compares to it! If you are looking for a simple glazed donut that is super fluffy but not too much, this is exactly what you should get. I have lived in Santa Barbara my whole life and never tried their glazed donut and am shocked that there isn’t more hype around it. Unbelievably excellent!
