El Hermoso Mar Reviews
Very good fish tacos! The lady at the counter is very nice! We came down from Reno and tried this place on the first day and we ended up eating there 2 more times on our trip. Definitely recommend this place!
Maybe it was too early for cook, but the food was eh
I saw the reviews and I was hesitant to go, but it was super close to the beach so I gave it a go. El Hermoso Mar offers a lively dining experience with a mix of hits and misses. The fajita and shrimp tacos receive high praise, while the fish tacos and overall cleanliness raise some concerns. The hot sauce and margaritas are standout items. The restaurant features a fun surfboard-themed decor and friendly staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Portions are sizeable, and the supernachos are enough for a couple. Although the place can get busy on weekends, it remains a convenient spot for drinks along the boardwalk.
Some reviewers mention that the burgers and fries are also really good and worth the wait, especially considering the low prices, which are a relief in Santa Cruz. While many enjoy the friendly service, there are mixed feelings about certain dishes, with some finding them lacking in flavor or too salty. Overall, El Hermoso Mar continues to be a place where visitors can enjoy good food at reasonable prices, despite some occasional misses.
