“When I lived out in California would make the drive from the city to enjoy everything up there, pies, the relaxing atmosphere, the charm that’s up there, the scenery, there’s really nothing not to recommend about Julian Pie Company or the town itself. I miss it all and only wish I could get their pies where I live now (Oklahoma) not quite the same. If anyone has not been there, please make the trip and enjoy it, you will not be disappointed. “I always stop here on my way to and from a weekend trip to Julian. I am NEVER disappointed. The service is top notch, even during a crowded Saturday morning breakfast rush. The food is always super fresh, delicious and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere feels fancy and yet at the same time is comfy casual, it would be hard to feel either under or overdressed here, how do that do that? My favorite appetizer is the blackberry shrimp, I could eat these forever. Tomato basil soup is divine, especially if you pair it with the grown up grilled cheese on a wintery day. The crack Chicken tacos make a great lunch, especially if you like buffalo wings. And the steaks, well they make me a bit speechless....don't make me talk because I want to just eat this tender morsel!! The breakfasts are cowboy big and super fresh. Maybe the chickens are in the back somewhere and have been trained to lay eggs on command, I don't know. If you don't live in the area, (like me) Farmhouse 78 is worth the drive, trust me.”

“I love this resort so much!! Everyone is so nice, and it has amazing prices!! The cabins are so cozy and so welcoming, me and my husband dedicated a day every year to go!! And the camping is so cheap!! The sky is so pretty, it’s so clear!! It’s such an experience, if you’re thinking of going, do it!! It’s so worth it!!”

“It’s been a while! But we had our wedding back in May, and the venue was so beautiful during that time (and pretty year round regardless!). Milagro was the first and last venue that we visited. The reason we chose it was because weddings are already expensive to begin with, though this venue was affordable for how naturally beautiful it is. And because of that we knew we didn’t need to dress it up as much with extra decorations and florals. Not only that, but all of the staff were so kind and great to work with. Thank you all again for being a part in making our day so memorable! <3”

“Calico has delicious ciders. Their field blend is excellent and dry. The orchard is a perfect setting for families to sit and have a cider. My daughter loved running around there. We will definitely be back. Calico, please consider getting a crowler machine so that we can take more cider home and it will be good for longer.”

“2 miles out of downtown Julian on CA-79 is a gem of a family owned food stop. Our 10am brunch of savory homemade gravy over country busicuits, as well as our shared ham, egg, and cheese on an onions bagel, was extremely scrumptious, to say the least. Open until 4 pm, please stop by and enjoy the Julian Pit Stop. The owners personal attention assures a wonderful dine in or take out experience. Photos posted by other reviewers are up to date, the store ambience is so pleasing.”

“A must visit for good quality wine lovers. Specifically enjoyed their estate Syrah, Petite Sirah and Cabernet. We recently came across this place by pure chance on a trip to the area and ended up staying for several hours enjoying the wine and company of Beth the owner and friends. Leaving with a full case of wine. We had the perfect wine tasting experience in their rustic 'shackteau' overlooking the rolling hills and vines. A prime example that good quality wines are made with passion in the vineyards, and not in the large estates with all their added fuss.”

“Purple owl is my families favorite cafe in Julian! They have fantastic coffee, some great grab and go items like parfaits and pastries, and BEST salads, tartines and crepes. So fresh and yummy.”

“Great experience at VGJ. It was a beautiful days, the wines were delicious, I think his name was Jacque(?) (the husband) was so kind and I loved hearing his stories, and we got to play with "Bad dog #3" who is the prettiest lady ever.

Wines wise, this is a gem winery with great wines at affordable prices.

“Bought a cake here for my fiancés 30th bday. It was not only gorgeous, but absolutely delicious. Honestly one of the best cakes I've ever had. We got the lemon and lavender. There was no evidence we even bought a cake once we were done with it. I highly recommend!”
