“There was a long line and Evan was the only one in register, there were more people in the back and they were doing nothing but staring and laughing at him. There was a white, short girl with glasses that was literally just standing there and not getting in register to help. The food was great and despite being in a rush, he was great to us. When we got our food in our table I tried giving the short, white girl with glasses our tray because I didn’t need it and she tried telling me to keep it or to put it away myself instead of just doing her job. Evan was great“

“I’m just going to say it: the Sweet Country Blues Sandwich at Rise Southern Biscuits in El Cajon is the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had.

A sweet blueberry biscuit, savory sausage, American cheese and a fried egg. That combination sounds simple, but it is ridiculously good. The blueberry biscuit is sweet, buttery and soft, and that sweetness against the salty sausage, melted cheese and fried egg is absolutely perfect.

This is one of those rare things you order that halfway through eating it, you’re already thinking about when you can come back and get another one.

My advice? Skip everything else on the menu and get this. Don’t overthink it. Get the Sweet Country Blues Sandwich and you’ll thank me later.“

“Great CFA kind staff, great food, and as nerdy as it may sound you can tell they replace their oil on a good schedule, if your CFA ever looks a little dark instead of the golden color it should be, it means they are using burnt oil that needs replacing.“

“It was too busy and orders were coming out burnt (guy next to me), or in my case....cold. Fried zucchini
should come out hot. I don't think I've had that big of a problem here it's just between forgetting to put things in your bags when you're in the drive thru, things like that then of course there's the less food for more money thing. Try the times when they're not busy. I mean the food is good it's just inconsistent.“

He greeted every customer, asked if they needed anything additional, and was moving fast the entire time. If he’s not a manager yet give that guy a promotion. “Stopped by this location at 2nd Street in El cajon one evening for dinner and my order was messed up only to return the next day and receive a complete new dinner and apology by Karen. Make sure and ask for everything you want, including condiments because California has restricted them on giving them out automatically!! Have always loved Kentucky fried Chicken and will continue to love them excellent food, excellent prices, and incredible customer service. The colonel is only one of two fast foods I will consider to eat because it is such high quality and definitely healthier than most fast food. Thank you and we will see you soon!“

Let me start by recognizing the manager- she was clearly training the staff, and I can’t give her enough accolades for how well she did tonight. She was teaching them that “good enough” was not the right way, that every order had to be made with the highest quality of care.
