It's deeply pleasing to take a drive through Kings Village, in Scotts Valley, and be reassured that the very first Erik's Deli still serves as a landmark there since 1973. I was a young 13 when my folks would treat my twin brother and I to an outstanding experience in THIS VERY SPECIAL DELI in 1977. For soups and sandwiches you can’t beat the tried and true Eric’s Deli. It’s a chain and I’ve been coming for years. This particular location in Scotts Valley is good, a bit hidden but always parking. We usually get the soup and sandwich combos or when sick we just get a big “pot” with a piece of bread. It’s wholesome food and reminds me of the 80’s when everyone was putting sprouts in sandwiches (you can get that here!) ??

Okay who is not stoked about this being the first Erik's Deli? It was a mecca for my husband and I to make it here. We went for our wedding anniversary, LOL. Located off Mt. Hermon road in a sweet strip mall. I have a very soft spot for places that haven't been renovated to the modern look. Call it nostalgia. I've been to many Erik's Deli Cafes in the South Bay.
