“I really wanted to come here and give a 5star review. Tried this place today at opening for the first time and food was everything that I thought it would be. Amazing soul food and have been looking for a good soul food spot. Greens were so good that we had to double back later in the day. Second time around there was a heavier set lady on the register at around 430 that was very impatient. I ordered the food as she was letting it be known to me and other 1st time customers that we were taking too long figuring out the menu or “confusing her” although she should be able to help guide how to order. After ordering while I was paying on the tablet she was yelling “name” over and over louder as I didn’t realize she was speaking to me. Instead of saying excuse me or just a “sir” to get my attention as I teach my 3year old. Just continued to yell louder in my face as if it isn’t loud enough in the restaurant. Then once I gave my name looked me dead in the face rolled her eyes and shook her head. As I heard her do the same to the customers behind me. As a GM at a successful restaurant I will say the food was great but that service is the kind to kill a business fast. Everyone else was great the owner is super hands on and interactive.“

“I've tried just about everything on the menu at Shady Grove Foods and nothing disappoints. I can close my eyes and put my finger on the menu and I would be happy wherever it landed. I had Sticky Bones again tonight and I'm as thrilled as the first time I tried them and all the other times I've had them and in fact I feel like tonight's were the best ever. I seriously enjoy their food and hospitality. The hardest part is driving back to Cal Heights without opening the box and start eating. “They stopped by my apartment complex this past weekend and I was lucky enough to give it a try. It was honestly great and I was surprised to see that they have a unique presentation of a dish that I am very familiar with already. They have many great options on the menu, but we chose the pizza pocket because it sounded unique and it’s similar to how I eat a slice of pie anyway. We chose the pepperoni pocket and thought it was fantastic. All the flavors were well balanced, and it was a good sized portion. It also came with a side salad and overall, we just really enjoyed it. It was also made very fast so we did not have to wait very long and the staff was very friendly. Being that it is a food truck they did not really have a seating area, but it was already at my apartment so I was just getting to go. I would definitely recommend and if I see them again, I will certainly give it another try.“

“The most incredible catering company ever! I used TGIS for my wedding in Malibu. They were the most professional, organized and responsible company. “Where to even begin with how incredible Cave Catering was? First, people were raving about the food for days. We had the lamb chops when we went for the (super professional, beautiful, immaculate) tasting and fell in love. We knew everyone would love them, and we were right! The shrimp cocktail was divine, and we also had the shrimp aguachile shooters because we couldn’t decide between the two. Grilled cheese, bruschetta, and caprese skewers were also a hit because they were so easy to eat at a cocktail hour and tasted delicious.

On top of that, Chef Nicole saved our wedding multiple times before it even happened. Any time we asked for something (renting linens, silverware, extra servers), she was quick to respond and provided anything we needed. We even texted her at 11pm the night before the rehearsal dinner because we figured out our chargers were broken. Her chargers were rented out that weekend, but she tracked some down and brought them to the wedding. The day of our event, she was on time, professional, and provided amazing staff.

We can’t emphasize enough how lucky we felt to have found Cave Catering. We will definitely be hiring them again for our next event.

“Been meaning to try Bopomofo but I live in NorCal so haven't had a chance until today! The hojicha latte is less intense than what I'm used to but still kept me up all night. The dark meat popcorn chicken is probably my favorite thing here. It did not disappoint. The beef noodle sandwich was an interesting experience and literally tasted like pho in a sandwich. The walnut shrimp sandwich was underwhelming and too dry for my taste.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant anywhere. From the warm, homey feeling the moment you walk in, to the great service from Luigi and the rest of the team, everything is always on point. And of course, the food speaks for itself. Chef Franco is truly a gem and one of a kind.

“Worked here a few weeks before COVID lockdowns happened in late March of 2020, flights cancelled at a rate of 90% is what I was told a week prior to the lock downs began. It was an ok work place, worked in the area where you put gummy bears, chips etc in the trays that fit into the carts. I'm not sure if it's a continued practice or not to this day but when I was there we repackaged any food that was unopened over and over again, much of the same food's been on multiple flight's.“

“We hired Jill's Catering for our daughter's wedding held in our backyard Jill brought in help for preparing serving and bartending for the event. The food was an Italian feast that was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. We have nearly 90 guests, so this was no small task, Jill offered excellent suggestions for our menu choices including delicious appetizers (antipasti skewers, crabcakes and phyllo cups filled goat cheese) and hearty entrees (chicken parmagiana tenders, basil cream farfalle with sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts and penne with a marinara sauce with sausage and a layer of ricotta (like a deconstructed lasagne). Although the event was held outside on an extremely windy day, the food and service help certainly helped make up for that setback,“

“Our wedding was on October 20, 2018 and the decorations and setting came out as my fiancé expected and actually exceeded them. Let me tell you, Carlos and his team are such professionals that they took a major load off our backs mainly my fiancé. We sat down with Carlos At his office a year prior to our wedding and he asked us what we’re looking for and he had his pen and paper noting everything down. Months passed and we again met with Carlos this time at the South End hall for the food tasting and he didn’t disappoint....the food was amazing and our guests told us after the wedding how much they loved food. We again met with Carlos and his daughter Karla and they showed us the table setting with the colors my fiancé wanted and she loved it since that’s what she envisioned. We wanted custom chairs for our sweetheart table and Carlos went above and beyond to get them for us. We couldn’t wait to see the final product and the day of the wedding we were amazed!!! Oh and the cocktail hour setting and appetizers were a major plus as well. For those out there reading these reviews, look no further. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed and with his help along with his family and his other staff, you’re planning will be not as stressful.
