“Franklin is a real gold-country gem. He is so knowledgeable and fun, I wish he was at every tasting room I visit. The vine was devine. The 04 Carneros Chard was a real surprise. If you ever wanted a white that taste like a red, this is the one. Don't skip this adorable spot, unless its Frank's day off“

“This is a hidden gem in Placerville. The precious Somm refer me to come here as he mentioned they have good reds here. The wines I tasted was good, but the thing was they have food here. I had the duck confit nachos and the spinach salad. Both dishes were surprisingly delicious for a winery kitchen. Beautiful tasting room but small. Outside patio and view of the lake is amazing. Stacey was personable and knowledgeable. She also invited me back for future events. Definitely a good stop for tasting and eating if visiting Placerville.

“With a friend in town visiting, my husband, friend, and I made our way to Vino Noceto upon the recommendation from another winery we had tasted at.

The wines are of the Italian varietal, and several of them were new to us. We enjoyed the space and how pleasant the servers were. They took the time to educate us on the wines, but in a laid-back manner that was not pretentious or presumptuous.

They have ample outdoor seating with plenty of shade and umbrellas. There is plenty of parking and they are dog friendly.“

They helped us choose what wines were the best and what they pair best with, along with aging times. Fairly priced and the wines are amazing. “This winery is one of the best! We visited for a wine tasting and the gentleman was so informative about the wines and how they are harvested, we couldn’t get enough of his knowledge! The wines, all six, that we selected on our own were excellent! We will probably join the club when we get home! Also, there is a picnic area that you can purchase a charcuterie board or cheese and crackers, spreads and dips to sit down and enjoy with your bottle of wine! It’s fantastic!“

It's one of our favorite wineries to visit. We make yearly visits to the Placerville area, and there is never a time we do not stop at Lava Cap.

The views are spectacular & the wines are excellent. The staff are excellent and well-versed in wines & anything about the winery itself. Our host, Jeff, was a lot of fun to talk to and was very informative with paired foods for the multiple wine tastes that we sipped.
We ended up spending two and a half hours there on the deck and on the lower level picnic tables“

“We just checked out their new location/tasting room for their grand opening and it was a hit! Love the covered patio and tons of seating out on the ground too. Excellent idea to combine with Amador flower farm!

Of course, we come for the wine and their Sparkling wines and Ports are some of the best! The peach mango sparkling wine was delicious!! A++“

The wines are true to style, not sweet and all very good. Left with a case and they will now be part of our regular rotation of favorite wineries during our visit.
