I had guests visiting from out-of-town and decided to try a smaller winery in Sonoma for a change, I was not disappointed. Schug Winery was the perfect place for our group of 4. The views of the Carneros Valley were incredible, the wines remarkable, the venue quite nice. We enjoyed a glass of sparking rose as we were guided around property followed by a private tasting (with charcuterie) inside their vast caves. Reservations required (we got lucky, first to walk in.). Only came across this winery by chance and were graciously welcomed and accommodated by our wine guide, whose name I didn't catch. She was very charming, attentive and knowledgeable. Will definitely go back again.

The wine was delicious and staff were very accommodating. The tasting room is very simple, but a nice focus on history and wine. The price to taste more than fair and have some interesting pinots, with great descriptions. We plan to return during the warmer months to check out their outdoor amenities.
