“Always the best food, service, and hospitality in Sonoma. A couple of recent additions to the menu were out of this world...a trout tartare, and a seared tuna that had the most wonderful light sauce that had a tad bit of heat. Wine list is locally focused and continues to be one of the best in wine country. I've never had an experience here that wasn't outstanding.“

“Being Brazilian of Portuguese descent and a good cook, my expectations were managed. I didn't check reviews or saw photos but took a look at their menu outside and had to try their Portuguese dishes. The cod fritters bolinhos de bacalhau were authentic and delicious. It's hard to make them and find descent salted cod. The wine flights, white port wine, desserts and the whole dining experience were fantastic. These days most restaurants are very expensive with mediocre or just ok food. La Salette made me believe in great food again. The flavors kept building up and surprised us. We're coming back soon.“

“So our family has a friendly competition to locate the best fish tacos anywhere. And I am a chili relleno snob so we stopped here on my daughter-in-law's suggestion and unfortunately she wins or maybe fortunately? The fish tacos were better than anything I've ever had and the chili Anna was above average so I can strongly recommend this place for the food. We had to wait about 10 minutes at the register even though they were open at 11:00 which bothers me a little bit because if you're going to open the front door you should be ready to go. But other than that the food came out promptly and was beyond amazing“

“I went to El Dorado for my birthday dinner with my friends We did wine tasting at WALT only 1 min walking distance from El Dorado and we really liked this course. Wine tasting and dinner at nice restaurant was such a good choice! Inside of the restaurant is very spacious and cozy. Only one thing, the grilled salmon which we ordered along with risotto didn't come out at the first time, the our server realized and brought to our table later. Except that, the food was very tasty and we really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. I'm the person who especially love the Sonoma vibe and the restaurant definitely made me feel I'm in the nice and cozy town.“

“Plenty of photos to accompany this review. The grounds are beautiful and the service was very attentive. I did not realize there is no dinner service here which surprised me a bit. The lemonade was not the powder kind and the dishes were all excellent except one. Brussel sprouts, the oversize onion rings, Chicken sandwich, Pork sandwich, and salad with shrimp were all very tasty. My question (I do not know the answer for sure so the potential single star beat down did not take place) is around the poke entree. The poke looks very much like the standard fish obtained from restaurant depot. Just like the seaweed salad that most places use from this supplier. I bring this up since the overall quality of the food here was high so I would hope they do not leverage that generic supplier for this dish. All in all, it is a five star establishment.“

“Great experience last night at this local Sonoma gem! Smallish menu with lots of starters to share and also some regular size entrees as well. The food was amazing. The service was great and friendly. We had a reservation for later in the evening but we called and they were happy to accommodate our request to come in earlier. I love sitting at the front window when we go with friends or sitting at the bar and watching the chef. Nice ambiance, kind of dark and moody with cool art on the walls. To start, we ordered the buratta. It was delicious. Served with pesto, Calabrian chilies and bread. We also ordered the raw oysters and a green goddess salad. For our mains - 3 of us ordered the boneless beef short ribs served with carrots and mashed potatoes and the other guest ordered the shrimp and grits. Needless to say we cleaned our plates! For dessert, we ordered the butterscotch pit de creme and a hot fudge sundae. I highly recommend this restaurant. Perfect location right on the Sonoma Plaza.“

The tasting room was spacious and the atmosphere was wonderful. Terry showed us a short film with aerial views of the vineyards producing the grapes of each wine we tasted. Awesome, just awesome! Sonoma Wine Shop Vegetarian • $$

“We arrived at the shop an hour prior to closing to celebrate our daughter's birthday who recently turned 21. We met Ori who was jovial and very hospitable. It was our 1st time here so he explained to us that after the wine tasting he will find the right bottle of wine for each of us. Ori started off with asking if we were looking for red, white, or both. Then the next question was if we like dry or fruity wine. We wanted both so he started us off with a bottle of dry white and asked us if we liked it then based on your answer he will let you taste different type of wine from small locally grown winery until he found the right bottle for each of the taster. We went thru the same process with red wines. Even though Ori does not drink wine, but he is very knowledgeable enjoys his job, very lively, fun, patience so it made our wine tasting experience very memorable . If you have never drank wine or does not know what you want to drink, I highly recommend visiting Ori and go thru the process. It will save you tons of money trying to figure out what kind of wine fits your taste. My wife and daughters walked out if their half drunk due to the amount of wine Ori offered to us. Very highly recommend you visit this shop“

“Huge recommendation to everyone for Kina’s.We dined at Kinas tonight after having been awol for a while. Wow! Just wow! The food is just great. We all shared the nachos as a family appetizer and the flavors were bursting in every bite.My daughter had the burger and loved it. It was enough that she brought 1/2 home and there were enough fries for the entire family to satisfy our craving. We both had the pozole (just one of 7 soups). The broth had a great mild spice and the soup was surely enough as a meal. They serve a side of chili oil to spice it up if you like. The food selection is great. I struggled to decide between the Fish Tacos and the soup. Plenty of parking. We have a couple of other regular spots around town and honestly, they simply don't match the flavor and quality of the food. Well done!!! We will be back for sure“

Meadowcroft wines, Hwy. 121, 23574 Arnold Dr suite, Sonoma

“We had a fabulous time at this winery! We came as a group of 6 on a rainy Saturday morning in November. We discovered this place because it is in the Priority Wine Pass for 2-for-1 tastings. We were pleasantly surprised to find out they were actually doing free tastings during our visit! Which makes the service we received during our tasting even more appreciated. They are located in a cute shopping complex with other places to explore nearby. We sat inside at a beautiful wooden table with a TV screen showing videos/photos of their vineyard. They also have a covered patio with lots of plants that is really cute! One person in our group is pregnant and could not drink. Our host, Elaine, brought out several non-alcoholic drink options for her free of charge which was so kind--they even poured it into a wine glass for her to feel included! She gave us a sparkling rose to start off our tasting, an addition to the regular tasting menu. We got to choose 4 wines to try from their list of 10 for the flight, we loved that we got to choose which wines were part of our tasting since we all have different preferences! I'm more of a white wine girl and really loved the French Colombard, I purchased a bottle to take home! There were 2 Cabs in their tasting menu, our host encouraged my husband to try the more expensive one and explained why it is better--this was a pleasant surprise for a group that was there doing a free tasting. She even brought out chocolates and a dessert wine for us to have at the end! We ended up getting to taste 6 different wines during this tasting which was amazing. Elaine told us a lot of the history of Meadowcroft and shared details of some events they have at the winery like their wine blending events. She let us see the wine aroma charts and talked with us about different scents and flavors of wine! I'd love to come for one of those events sometime. We felt like Elaine went above and beyond for our service, we had to thank her for such a great experience here by buying several bottles of their wine! Thank you for being one of our favorite wineries of the weekend, I will certainly be back!“

Hanson of Sonoma Distillery Distilleries • $$
22985 Burndale Rd, Sonoma

“The Hanson family can do no wrong in my book, with their scintillating cocktails and their organic vodkas which are harvested, made and bottled in small batches locally in Sonoma, California, they have certainly carved their own niche in the heart of wine country. Credit goes to the entire Hanson family lead by father and CEO Chris and his wife Judy and their kids, Darren, Chris, Alanna and Brandon, who all serve pivotal roles within their distilling empire, which began over a decade ago by turning locally harvested organic grapes into naturally infused vodkas, each with its own distinctive taste and flavor, in addition to single malt whiskey. I have had multiple experiences with Hanson of Sonoma Distillery with their two locations both on the Carneros Highway in Sonoma, and their art gallery on Bridgeway in Sausalito. Enjoy handcrafted cocktails in a spectacular setting for both private special events, where we received a tour from members of the Hanson family themselves, and making reservations for a special vodka tasting with a friend can make for one memorable afternoon. Recently a friend and I were in the area visiting a local winery, and we thought to ourselves would it be possible to walk right in and see if they were not only taking customers for the day and were they serving their signature handcrafted pizzas made out of their special wood-fired grill, which is inside their tasting room. We got their early enough on the weekend afternoon we arrived and after milling about their tasting room, looking around and seeing if any space was available, we were told we could sit on one of the two four seated high top tables. The menu at the Hanson of Sonoma Distillery is separated in "Experiences" which are their vodka and whiskey flights, sometimes paired with caviar and chocolate; their Club Release Cocktails; and their food menu, which ranges everything from oysters sourced locally from Hog Island, salads, and of course their Wood-Fired Pizzas which are only sold from Fridays through Sundays as their chef Ari, who has enjoyed achieving a Michelin star rating, has another full-time chef job to do. Since we came for lunch, and we saw the wood-fire grill burning brightly, my friend and I were committed to sharing a pizza and a couple cocktails. Our tasting room associate Jack recommended their Salsiccia pizza with its spicy sausage, red pepper, red onions, pecorino and San Marzano sauce that sounded too good to ignore. To pair with our pizza, I ordered their Sunshine Splash cocktail which had ginger vodka, white peach puree, lemon and agave, while my friend ordered their Cucumber Drop, But Pretty which had their signature cucumber vodka, fresh lemon, agave, and butterfly pea flower. Our cocktails came out first and they were presented with such flair and brightness as my cocktail was a pink and fizzy delight that reminded me of paloma with a little more pizazz, while my friend's lavender beverage was a surprising delight thanks to the butterfly pea flowers that gave this festive drink its lively color. Then came perhaps the best part of our meal, the pizza, which was a beautifully cooked small size pizza that was so perfectly cooked with some of the best toppings that I have ever enjoyed on a pizza. Chef Ari deserves all of the praise she has earned as the little burned bubbles were cooked to perfection. When combined with a few sips of my cocktail, it was the perfect combination. Our tasting room associate Jack was nice enough to offer us a sip of their signature Bloody Mary, and it was so rich and hearty that after even a small sample one could easily taste it was a meal unto itself. From the pizza to the cocktails Hanson of Sonoma Distillery puts in that extra touch that easily makes you make many more return visits, as they even had a little extra of my friend's Cucumber Drop in his shaker and he graciously gave her a little extra pour. Our total bill was $58.72 with tip and before gratuity which was totally reasonable for the amount of food and cocktails we enjoyed this afternoon. It's nice “
