We could not decide if we wanted to stay in Sonoma or Napa. We're glad we stayed in Sonoma and found the Fairmont. It is an older hotel and comes with its charm. The staff was outstanding, luved the wine tasting each evening and splurged and had dinner at Sante (their restaurant). Sante was superb! I had a nice massage, but it certainly was not firm, as advertised. It was overpriced! I do not understand why I was charged a spa facility fee, either. I stayed at the aging hotel and don’t think the spa compares to others I have visited in the wine country.
My sister and I were only there for approximately 18 hours and found the staff and accommodations to be very nice, however, very expensive. Was it worth the cost? I would say definitely not. We were unable to use most of the facilities (pool) since the weather was not very cooperative. We did take the private shuttle into town; which was excellent.
