“Historical Pasadena restaurant that some people forget about. I hadn’t been here for years until this evening. I’d give 5 stars, but my pork chop was dry and little overcooked. Everything else was wonderful, including the drinks. It’s very intimate inside, but as the restaurant fills up it gets quite loud. The patio is covered and heated, but you may find yourself having to talk over the nearby tables or road noise. Valet parking only, $8 at the time of this review. There is street parking available on Fair Oaks though.“

Last night we enjoyed @majordomola . Koreanish food, at it's best generous and full flavoured. Each time I've gone, the service is always attentive and welcoming.The atmosphere is very trendy and I really do love the open layout overall. The food and drinks have always been a hit for me, I've tried almost everything on their menu and I haven't been disappointed. My go to cocktail is the cu cucumber martini, which is very refreshing! “Everything was great. Atmosphere was amazing. Drinks took awhile and my friend whose birthday it was never got her second drink. And when it was time to pay I wanted to leave a little early so I had the waiter split my bill plus the birthday girl's drink and he ended up charging me the remainder on my card which was $130 instead of the $68 eventually we put everything on my card and had two transactions on my card instead of voiding it and having that amount pinned on my bank account. For what it's worth if this happens to you especially if you go in a large party remember that it is best to just zelle each other then void the transaction and have multiple pending transactions on your bank account. I was a little disappointed that all the waiter wanted to offer was to void the whole thing because as a server myself I know that this causes multiple pending transactions. So from both the customers point of view and the servers to make your life easier and theirs remember that nobody's perfect and mistakes can be made and if you can take the initiative to lead your group so that the money isn't lost in cyberspace so that not only the bill gets paid but everybody feels like they put a fair amount in then your experience will be a good one even if it seems like it's going south. So in conclusion I ended up staying a little bit longer than I wanted to but I felt like this was an experience that had to be shared and I hope this is helpful for people in the future.“

I went on a Tuesday evening, and the restaurant was quiet, but it was great to get to talk with my friends without having to yell over music or anything. They have large TVs on, and the Dodger Game was on display by the bar area. We got the Michelada flight, and they were delicious. I thought we were going to need more, but the flight was enough for two to share, since we were not trying to get tipsy. The fries were good, had a lot of toppings. We ordered garlic fries and they brought out a different plate. It looked so appetizing, we didn't bother sending them back and just enjoyed them. My friend also ordered Fresas can Creme and they came in a cute martini glass. When I got my check, I was so relieved with the amount. They have a good size parking lot too. “purposely came due to the nostalgic aspect of it being in the movie Halloween III. super cool vintage vibe just like from the Tom Atkins scene in the movie. great beers on tap and clean bathroom. bartender had a very nice British accent and was very accommodating. a buddy of mine was with me and we got to hang out with some of the bar regulars. they shared stories about the area and gave us some real nice recommendations in regards to film locations. we took some pics with the bartender and regulars before making our way to the famous church from the movie THE FOG. definitely stop by and grab some drinks if you're in the area !!“

Im allergic to raspberries and blackberries thus I always tell the waiter waitress before I order anything. Tell me why I ordered a seafood dish and the place it on the other side Im sitting at a corner and lo and behold theres blackberries on top of it. So in my head I didnt think it was my order. Also of friend in the group has special dietary restrictions. She ordered their veggie rice it took forever to come. Every one got their tacos and ceviches ate it all before her rice even came out. She also ordered their fried cauliflower that never made it out. Waiter didnt mention anything until we asked for it a third time and said they were out of it since people rarely order it. Fully stocked bar below, but middle and upper shelves are dedicated to bourbon, Scotch, Irish and Japanese labels. Not a cocktail drinker, but the bartenders look line they know what they're doing.“

“I don't leave many reviews but I felt compelled because of the level of customer service that I received from the manager, Jarod. I had dinner delivered, an item was labeled correctly but when I opened the container it was something else. I called the restaurant. He apologized, no big deal. He said he'd refund the item. The following day he calls me back to tell me he can't refund the item on his end. I need to contact the 3rd party delivery. He will make sure I get my item for free and throw in a desert upon my next delivery. I just need to contact him after placing my order, he will guarantee to put them in the bag coming to me.It's not that I'm getting something for free but that he took the time to reach out to me to make sure I got the refund I was entitled to. The rest was above and beyond my expectations. I liked the food enough that this was my second order in as many days but this propelled them to the top of my favorite restaurants in my area. “This was my first time at the Raymond. I subtracted 1 star for service. It wasn't bad, just could be polished up a tad. Plates were left on the table between courses necessitating the server to clear them. The food was very good. It's not fine dining—does not pretend to be so—it's more akin to the casera vibe. It's as if you were eating at a friend's home, albeit a friend that really knows how to cook. We sampled the chicken and the pork chop. The chicken was outstanding. As we all know, chicken is a challenging protein to cook perfectly. And it was. It arrived hot and juicy and expertly seasoned. My comment on the pork is only representing my own flavor profile; I found it to be needing a bit more pan sauce. And, for me, the Dijon mustard came on a bit too strong and overwhelmed the delicacy of the subtle pork flavor. We really enjoyed the ambience. Both outside and inside were a comfortable environment to enjoy a nice, un rushed meal. We will return.“

The State was located on the corner of Myrtle and Lemon, actually it was near the corner. Parking: There were plenty of parking spaces around, but you can find more parking spaces on a nearby parking lot (free), turning right on Lemon (going East) if you're heading South on Myrtle. The parking lot was located across from the Fire Station. The posted sign on the parking lot stated a 3-hour parking from 8am-5pm Tips: Happy Hour, M-Fr 11am-6pm. I missed the Happy Hour today. I got there at 6:30PM Brunch: SAT, SUN: 10AM-3PM Specials: Monday-Mules $6 Tuesday-Margaritas $6, Tacos $2.5 Wednesday-Old Fashioned $8, Toki Highball $6 Thursday- All Wine by The Glass 1/2 off What were ordered My daughter ordered the following: -Pasta Primavera $20 (She enjoyed it and finished her plate. I tried it and it was tasty to me.) -Creme Brûlée $10 (Delcious) I ordered -New York Steak Medium Rate $38. It came with tenderstem broccoli and mash potatoes. (It was juicy and tender. My daughter tried it and she liked the steak) -Wedge Salad $11 (I liked it. My daughter didn't. She was more of a caesar salad fan) -Avocado Wraps $12, came with 3 wraps (I liked it. My daughter didn't try because she didn't like avocados) -Short Rib Tacos $12, came with 3 tacos (I do not recommend. For me the flavor of the meat was not good. My daughter said it was too spicy and she didn't like it. She was attacking me for not telling her it was spicy, making it sounded like I did that on purpose. I didn't even know they had chopped jalapeños in it) Total after tax was $113.56, with 20%ish tip $136.56 Overall the food was good, service was great, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Talking of which, we saw ambulance and firefighters activity during dinner. Of course I had to snap a pic to share with you all. Oh the place was very busy, no empty table inside. We were offered to sit at the bar or outside (they thought my daughter was 21 or something haha). I chose to sit outside and thankfully they had heating lamps right above us...it was very warm. One minor issue: When my daughter and I first arrived at The State and waited at the hostess lectern to be seated. The waitress and waiter were busy in the back by the bar area cleaning glasses. The waiter decided to wave at me to come to the bar, instead of coming to the front to the hostess stand to seat us. I was thinking to myself "What the heck was that? Uhhh no. You come to me". He kept waving at me trying to get my attention and I ignored. I stayed put until one of them, the waitress, decided to stop what she was doing and came to us to ask us if we wanted to sit at the bar or outside. Other than that, everything else was great and we had a great time.“
