“We needed a birthday cake ASAP for a new employee's birthday, they were available on Postmates so we weren't sure what we would get! OMG we were sent the Strawberry Shortcake 7" cake. It was moist, not too sweet, with fresh strawberries. The best part was the real cream frosting! Thank you for making our last minute birthday lunch a success, we've found our go-to bakery!!!“

“Was almost lost when trying to find the outlet since it's located in a plaza that might not be visible if you're by the road side. Worry not about parking at the plaza since they apparently validated parking (yep! plus point for sure).

The gorgeously designed outlet only served grab and go since there's no seating on the spot. There were some outdoor benches at the center of the plaza though if you just couldn't wait to enjoy the goodies.

They offered bunch of sweets from Canele, Madeleine, Financier, Cookies, Cheesecake, and more; all of which did come in multiple flavors. So yeah, be prepared to be indecisive in front of the showcase. They were super helpful though in assisting you making your choices by recommending the favorite ones. It was nice that the price was decent enough for LA standard, so you could definitely opt for more than one or a couple.

For my initial visit, I started with the Ube Financier, which was kept in the chiller, maybe due to the cream on top. It came in spongy yet not too airy texture with luscious ube cream topping. It was decent, but not really my top choice. My second was their Earl Grey Milk Chocolate Tigre, which was basically buttery cake kinda similar to financier IMO, with milk chocolate ganache at the center. I definitely loved this more than the financier, especially the combo of earl grey and milk chocolate which to my surprise was awesome and helped balancing the taste to be not overly sweet. Another one I tried was their thick salted chocolate chip cookies, which decadently had crispy edge though I wish being more gooey inside as it's tad dry. Nonetheless, flavor wise I felt like classic chocolate chip with a sprinkle of sea salt indeed never failed. The creme de la creme, however, was certainly their canele which I was beyond thrilled to finally find in LA. I had my favorite one in London which I thought unbeatable, and it's impressive that LA now had something comparable to satisfy the craving without having to fly over 5K miles away. It flawlessly had that crispy coating, moist center, and just the right sweetness level. I surely made the right choice going with matcha as Brown Bag definitely elevated the overall taste with this matcha flavor and that matcha cream top. It was no brainer that their canele is NEVER TO BE MISSED if you ever paid Brown Bag a visit.“

“I have been to the 2 Little Tokyo locations and this one is definitely the winner! there’s a huge variety of pastries and things to eat for a quick bite (you might probably have to eat it standing or elsewhere during the weekends since it gets pretty packed and there’s just 3 tables!) but the steamed buns were good!, the matcha mochi wasn’t too sweet so it was perfect, the almond croissant was fine but their specialty is definitely on other pastries! will definitely come back again to try more stuff.“

“Cara Mia catered my mother-in-law's memorial service beautifully and on quite short notice. The owner was so incredibly kind and helped us pick out the right things to feed 30+ people, was super responsive via email, and even met us in person when we picked up our order to offer her heartfelt condolences. They went above and beyond to help make this difficult day easier and we were blown away not only by their compassion, but the quality of their baked goods! The memorial guests devoured everything and many of them remarked to us how great the food was :) I can't recommend Cara Mia enough and hope to visit again under happier circumstances. “First time customer yesterday while waiting for my boba beast drink next door. Spent $29 the first time & tried various pastries. After eating two pastries I just had to go back & buy more for my staff at the hospital. Spent another $49 & left with a box full of pastries & the employee even threw in a freebie. “My Mom like going to get cake from Bonjour French Pastry because this is a really good place for a good cake. I have some of the cake that Mommy like. The Matcha Cake is good. The Mango Cake is also really good. And I also enjoy having some of the Tiramisu Cake which is good. So I recommend going to this place if you want to get some good cakes. And also the limit to get inside is 6 limit so you have to be patient to get inside to get your cakes.“

I wanted to order an iced Carmel macchiato to go along with it but that's when the guy said they couldn't make any more drinks because they had already cleaned all the coffee machines. Although it raised concerns that a large company was taking over the local commercial area, it is true that it was an opportunity for the transformation of local bakeries, and although it is not outstanding, it is a bakery that has the advantage of being able to enjoy consistent quality confectionery anywhere in the country.

Do you know the difference between Paris Croissant and Paris Baguette?
It's surprisingly simple. Paris Baguette makes its dough at the factory, delivers it frozen nationwide, and bakes it at each branch. Paris Croissants makes bread from raw dough and sells it at its branches.

I remember when I first encountered Paris Croissant in front of the Galleria Department Store in the late 1980s, it was truly a new world haha.
