“I'm so used to getting rice that is room temperature at best. So I ordered the chicken shawarma rice bowl, and the first thing I notice is the rice is warm . . . like really warm. I also have a fear of really hot spicy food because it makes me sick. No problem here - the chicken was so delicious, and not "hot" spicy at all. Just a really great flavor. My friend ordered the same, and her reaction was the same. Great flavor, so tasty! The service was great too! But the very best part was the size of the serving - it was such a generous serving, I had to ask for a to-go container, and enjoyed it again later that day. The restaurant was light, bright and clean. I totally recommend this restaurant.“

“The best place to try Bosnian food! I can’t pick one favorite, from cevapi to pizza to pita , this food taste like homemade. All employees are nice and friendly, but the owner is an amazing human being, so humble and approachable, honest and relatable, love chatting with him every time we visit Cali, which is usually 2-3 times a year and we make sure we eat lunch and dinner at Sofra Urbana every day. This a fast casual establishment so you have to order at the register first and they bring your meal to the table when its ready. The staff at the register are always polite and will help you with the vast menu choices if needed. The kabobs and salads are outstanding and don't forget to try the delicious chicken soup which is freshly made every day. Portion sizes are generous as well. Manager Joe and his staff will take of you and your dining party with the same level of attention you would receive in a full-service restaurant. SO good. I had the eggplant special, but first I wanted to try something more adventurous. The spicy meatballs with marinara and sour cream (??) did not disappoint. The lentil soup... the (complimentary) baklava... salad, millet(?)... everything was superb.

As a delicious accent our family feasted on tasty rice, Mediterranean salad, cucumber yogurt salad, and grape leaf rolls. To top off a wonderful meal, we ordered their walnut baklava...WOW! The staff were kind and patient, very friendly. Don't miss out on this restaurant!“

“Ok so listen up. I am a real Arabic/Mediterranean guy, so I grew up with this food as a child and my Jordaniain mom makes it when I visit her.

PROS:

- This place is surprisingly excellent to get to the point.

- The employees are not Arabic, they are hispanic but they have good service and they are very good at getting the recipes correctly! They are great and understand the food.

- The portions are great. Do not change this!

- The quality of meat is good!

- The price is very reasonable. This costs the same as garbage fast food places (14 - 20$) but obviously this is real food and much better compared to garbage American food. Great price / value.

- Dining area is small, but cozy. It reminds me of many italian, arabic, etc. family owned restranauts which I grew up eating in.

CONS:

- Please add french fries to your menu. In the Middle East and Europe, it is very weird if a med/greek food place does not have French Fries. Add fries with Mediterranean seasoning. The spicy potatoes are very tasty however.

- Nothing else... Good job guys!

I will return to this place and bring friends! Keep it up and do not change anything for the worse!

Typical SoCal ordering set-up with menu board above the order station. Make your choices, pay, find a table, and wait for your order. You can get your self-serve drink and condiments while you're waiting. Service is generally good with some enthusiastic staff. Food is very good. We shared a chicken schwarma plate with hummus and pita. We added on sides of another hummus and pita. Note that hummus and pita count as 2 sides here. The hummus was good and generous. The pita was grilled and was that lovely fluffy Greek style pita. The schwarma was tender, tasty, juicy, and covered in drippings. I wasn't into spicy, so I got the OG garlic sauce. Deliciously subtle. Prices are reasonable for these days. I noticed another store closer to where we live. Good to know.“
