“I was looking for good pan dulce and found Panaderia La Colmena #1 right across the street from Home Depot.
Sometimes pan dulce will taste like old oil but not this place. Their breads were delicious, full of flavor and not greasy at all. Even the cornbread was yummy!

Staff are always smiling, friendly, and super attentive — they remembered my usual order on my third visit, which really made me feel welcome. I’ll be back every weekend for my smoothie fix 🍑✨“

Play date here and they were very aware of their gluten free options. My Celiac is beyond sensitive where as my daughters is not as bad. It was nice to have them be aware of things. I got a salad, she had a GF cupcake with her friend. Parking was ok, lots of seating indoor and outdoor, pretty space.“

“This is a nice family-owned type place serving primarily Mexican and Mexican-inspired dishes. We went for breakfast and had omelettes - very tasty. The ambience is clean, quiet, and friendly. Prices are in line with the area (this is Hollywood after all) but trending to the more affordable end of the scale. There is a very nice outdoor seating area and a very small parking lot. There is more parking in the nearby area but you'll have to take a short walk. The service was fast, accurate, and attentive. Our overall experience was excellent and we've already decided to come back next time we're in this area.“

“THIS PLACE RULES. A secluded and tucked café with coffee and food in Hollywood. It’s on a closed lot, but there are signs pointing to the parking lot to find the café. You do not have to work here to come to Dukes. I usually come here when I get my car wash or get my car worked on while I wait. They have reach in cooler for RTD drinks, super dank, massive burgers, but I always opt for their sandwiches because they’re on point. Everyone that works here is super cool, down to earth and professional. If you want hot sauce, they’ll let you select from a secret arsenal. Love this place.“

“This Bakery is Beyond amazing 👏 😍 They make fresh fruit smoothies :^) they have multiple milk options 😋 They offer fresh juices that are healthy, yet delicious. They have delicious sandwiches. There’s outdoor seating if you want some fresh air, and it’s right by the LA River bike path which makes it a perfect stop before or after a ride. Consistently solid spot.“

The walls are lined with black-and-white vintage photography from past activism, and every dollar you spend goes straight into life-saving programs for the LGBT community. “The matcha einspanner was nothing short of amazing. They use Rocky’s blend which is socially questionable since it’s not a Japanese brand and high retail pricing but who are we kidding they nail it with the matcha flavor profile: Asian American’s favorite-nutty and umami. And pairing it with the cafe’s cream foam makes the drinks creamy and just sweet enough! This was my favorite matcha drink in LA.“

“Everything here tastes wonderful. Whatever you order, you'll have a hard time finding a place that does that better. I live in OC but whenever I have business in the area, I make sure to pick up a drink and 1 or 2 pounds of coffee beans.
Also, I don't know if this is new or I was just not aware but they do teas too! Not really my thing but I had an iced mint tea the other day that was amazing 🤩

I absolutely love Rumors Coffee! Every time I walk in, the place feels warm and welcoming, and the staff is always so kind and genuine.

But I have to mention the highlight: their handmade Bosnian börek. Oh my goodness… it’s incredible! Flaky, fresh, and full of flavor. It honestly tastes like something you’d get in a Bosnian home. I find myself craving it all the time, especially with a hot latte.

“Came on down to Thunder Road on my way to Brokeback Mountain. Boom, this place has it going on… I’m a coffee shop enthusiast, I try as many as I can, and I’m picky about where I return. The vibe is the perfect balance of cozy (but not dark or dusty), homey (but clean and 0% boring). No matter where you sit, it’s cozy. Those industrial, hard-seat coffee shops cannot even kiss my assbecause I’m sitting here instead.
Whoever did the design in here is amazing. It’s got the calming color palate of nature with the edge of motorcycle getup (kinda like the feeling of cruising through SoCal landscapes with the wind in your hair). The coffee is good and reasonably priced, and it’s the kind of place people come back to. You can tell there are a bunch of regulars who frequent here. This place isn’t trying to be anything, it just is.

“Excellent food and service! Absolutely perfect breakfast. Hot, delicious, HUGE portions. The best chai tea latte I've ever had it - it puts Starbucks to shame. The meal was esthetically a work of art (see photo). The menu said two eggs, but it looked like five. Great French toast - better than I can make myself. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Sabor y Cultura on our interview date. Hollywood’s Sabor Y Cultura has a clear goal of wanting to bring together as many people as possible with the power of coffee, waffles, arts, and events. It’s really no wonder that Michael enjoys hosting his Outlaws Of Folk series here with its quirky color scheme, spacious floor plan, eye-catching artwork from local artists, and of course, a lovely staff that strives to make sure any patron is comfortable and having a great experience. Apart from the sheer kindness from shop owner Tyler to allow us to film Michael’s interview there, I was graced with a food and drink menu that had me torn on what exactly I wanted to order, in a good way. In the end, I just could not say ‘no’ to the sweet, fresh baked smell of waffles, and opted for a #foodporn worthy strawberry banana Belgian waffle and a dream-y sweet cloud coffee with Irish cream.
