“I was looking for good pan dulce and found Panaderia La Colmena #1 right across the street from Home Depot.
Sometimes pan dulce will taste like old oil but not this place. Their breads were delicious, full of flavor and not greasy at all. Even the cornbread was yummy!
The woman working the counter was friendly and chatted with me a bit. I wish my Spanish was better so I could really have a conversation with her.“

“This Latina woman–owned coffee shop is such a hidden gem. From the outside it might look a little rough, but step inside and you’ll be greeted with the warmest service and the most delicious food. I had the best breakfast sandwich I’ve had in a long time, and the mazapán latte was out of this world. PERFECTLY made. “Ooh, what a lively place. It is a packed place even on a late Thursday morning, but the food is quite good.

I had the avocado toast with two poached eggs and it was tasty. I added a sprinkle of pepper and it was set to go. Definitely interested in trying the rest of their menu.

Cold brew was also nice although not too memorable.“

“Maybe the best cinnamon roll I have ever had. Not overly sweet, or too buttery, or yeasty. Cooked enough and perfectly balanced. The Chai latte was just right. Very rich in flavor, very nice tea. Not too hot either. Staff is friendly and the place is well kept. Good music as well.“

“Their matcha is definitely better than most if not all places in LA; the fragrance of the matcha tea flavour was nice and distinct thought not strong; still pretty creamy overall. The salted foam on the matcha spanner is delicious.
Their breakfast sliders were delicious, mostly because of the sauces and freshness.
Be prepared to wait in line 30-60+ mins on weekends, especially with the rhode collaboration happening this month. We waited just about an hour last weekend when the line ended right around the end of the block.“

“This Bakery is Beyond amazing 👏 😍 They make fresh fruit smoothies :^) they have multiple milk options 😋 They offer fresh juices that are healthy, yet delicious. They have delicious sandwiches. Their homemade cookies are amazing 👏 They go above and beyond to make you feel at home 🏡 they have AC and it's comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and provides a sound blocking experience. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Sabor y Cultura on our interview date. Hollywood’s Sabor Y Cultura has a clear goal of wanting to bring together as many people as possible with the power of coffee, waffles, arts, and events. It’s really no wonder that Michael enjoys hosting his Outlaws Of Folk series here with its quirky color scheme, spacious floor plan, eye-catching artwork from local artists, and of course, a lovely staff that strives to make sure any patron is comfortable and having a great experience. Apart from the sheer kindness from shop owner Tyler to allow us to film Michael’s interview there, I was graced with a food and drink menu that had me torn on what exactly I wanted to order, in a good way. In the end, I just could not say ‘no’ to the sweet, fresh baked smell of waffles, and opted for a #foodporn worthy strawberry banana Belgian waffle and a dream-y sweet cloud coffee with Irish cream. Perfectly in tun with our afternoon. The French owner is an absolute delight. We ordered a Moroccan chicken dish and beef bourguignon. The portions were very hearty and absolutely delicious. We also upgraded our dinner to include salad and a lovely blueberry tart for dessert. The entire experience was memorable! We’ll definitely be back and bringing friends!“

During the week, the atmosphere is so nice and cozy. It's a shared business space, which can make for some interesting people watching.

I wish they were open a little later during the summer because they are always closing just when I'm craving that last coffee of the day.

I avoid it on the weekends because the line is usually out the door and the crowd is usually pretty unwelcoming, especially if you try to ride there.“

“I was riding the LA River bike path and my derailleur stopped shifting. I stopped at Spoke hoping they could get me in decent enough shape to limp my bike home. The mechanic (I can't remember his name, sorry!) was exactly who you want working on your bike: the friendly guy who knows everything and can't wait to fix your bike. He replaced the cable, adjusted the derailleur, and had me back on the road in under 30 minutes for about 30 bucks (after tip!). If I lived any closer to Spoke I would have a new bike shop!“
