Based on recent reviews, Mort's Deli LA is among the best delis the area has to offer, with pastrami that is truly to die for. However, some feel the new owners have ruined what Mort’s was, calling the ambiance sterile and criticizing the price of the food compared to the portions. Despite this, many have driven far to enjoy this wonderful deli for many years. One reviewer noted that the staff showed incredible hospitality by serving them after hours without a word, as the restaurant closes every day at 5.
