“We randomly came across Lazy Dog Restaurant driving through Thousand Oaks on our way to Big Bear on the 4th of July weekend. We wanted to get some real food and a beer.

We parked in the parking lot across the street which had a fair amount of available parking.

We were able to get a seat right away. Service was quick and friendly. The menus are cool (leather wrapped). Tons of good food options. Good size meal. Pricing is very fair for the portion and quality.

We wanted to try a new beer and tried the Huckleberry Haze IPA and it was amazing. We ever got a 4 pack to go (yes they even sell it canned)! This beer was SO good that we HAD to stop back while driving home from Joshua Tree for lunch and of course, more of the Huckleberry beer. They also have a lunch special, a half sandwich, and a salad and other side like fries for around $12.“

We shared our joys of eating ice cream, discussed the different ice cream variations sold. I loved hearing that he supports our local Oxnard strawberry growers. He was so kind he gave us a a free pint of Rocky Road ice cream to sample.The Rocky Road was creamy, with generous amounts of marshmallows and almonds. It was so good! Now that’s Stellar Customer Service! We had to run some errands, and returned once they were open to buy some more. Overall it was a great experience with Ralph and his staff!“

Parking: In the same small shopping center there is a grocer, a smoke shop, a dollar store and Laundromat among other businesses. The lot tends to be busy.

Stopped in today to check out this new fish restaurant. I was not disappointed. I usually have my fish grilled or broiled, but I decided to get it fried today. And, as long as I was throwing caution to the wind, I ordered the hush puppies and red beans and rice as well.
Everything was delicious and well presented.

My Wife ordered the fried shrimp dinner with Cole slaw and french fries. I tried the shrimp, which are jumbo size, delicious, the fries were tender inside and slightly crispy outside, and there were plenty to share. She loved the cole slaw as well.

The dinners come with 2 sides and a dinner roll.

I will be going back because I had the red snapper today, but I am anxious to try the catfish and salmon ( fish can be fried or grilled) and the collard greens, which are cooked with smoked turkey instead of smoked pork.

They have combo plates and family meal deals too.

Oh, and I haven't tried them yet, but they have fresh baked peach cobbler, sweet potato pie , red velvet cake and chocolate cake .

The restaurant is small, a few tables inside and a couple outside, and they also do takeout.

Everything was neat and clean, even the restroom.

I've always just picked up food from there so I can't comment too much on how the experience is dining in, other than it seems to be pretty clean and relatively quiet. It seems it's more popular for take out than dining in (at least the times I have been there). The Chicken Wings are pretty good (especially the Korean BBQ more so than the garlic butter wings), Egg Rolls are OK, however, the favorites are the Pork Banh Mi sandwhiches (recommend getting extra meat just to even out the meat to bread ratio), Shaking Beef Rice Dish and Shaking Tofu. Friendly service and seem reasonably priced!“

“Went here after a long time. The decoration and ambiance is same as a year back. Usually I order their tonkatsu ramen, but this time I went with chicken katsu curry rice…I’m glad I did. The katsu was top quality … crunchy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside…their curry was absolutely top notch. It had the deep flavor and a slight bit of spicyness at the end. If you haven’t tried their curry do try it.“
