“Recently bookmarked Shula's as a spot to try since they had good ratings and crispy birria tacos. Went to Solano County Brewery and to my surprise their food truck was there!! Of course, I got my tacos and hubby got a cheeseburger. Both were absolute fire!! The 3 tacos were big and loaded with juicy, tender meat and cheese, fried to perfection! I was full after 2 and had to save the last 1! The consumé for dipping was on point! Hubby's burger was juicy and tasted as if it had a little bit of a Mexican twist to it which we loved! The fries were crispy and delicious as well and are amazing dipped in the leftover consumé! They were so good that we got a couple mulitas to go and they also did not disappoint, but I do think $4 is a little much for what they are. Overall we were happy with Shula's food and service and will definitely pick up some of their delicious food whenever we see them!“

“Can't say enough about this hidden gem. Of you have been thinking about checking it out just go. The food is amazing and the owner and his family are the best. Always feel welcome here. Mr. Ramos is so very generous and always has something delicious on hand to sample. Checks all the boxes for me and can't think of a better spot in fairfield for some delicious Mexican food prepared by a great family. My family is crazy for the ribs, pastor tacos, quesa burria and Carne asada super burritos.“

“I went to Dixon to Pedricks to buy tamales today 12/24/24, but they had sold out (1900 today!!!) But the cashier told me where they buy theirs from:
Chepos in Elmira.
I called to ask if they still had any left, she said they did, and that I could give my name inside and order when I got there so I could take it all in. I ended up with 6 pork, 6 chicken, 6 chile and cheese, a large rice and a large beans and spent a total of $54.00. Tamales are $3.00 a piece, rice and beans $3.00 each for a small or $6.00 each for a large. And EVERYTHING is sold HOT. So if you want to sit in your car and eat a whole ass meal, feel free, you won't be the only one. You can also buy drinks, and I heard another patron talking about their order of enchiladas. I also saw quesadillas and I think burritos on their menu. Next time I will be ordering ahead like a week in advance. They had PLENTY left when I got there after 3:30-4pm. They close at 5 today, idk regular hours.
But these tamales are SABROSO to say the least.
Merry Christmas, Chepos!!! You've earned a customer for life. Thank you for the amazing food.
Vegetarian options: I know they have vegetarian tamales.
Parking: Park where you can find it, there's more around the side where the mural is, just don't block the houses that are next door and to the side when you park. Be careful not to block the street. People are usually in and out pretty quickly so if you have to, just wait a couple minutes and a spot will free up.
Kid-friendliness: The food is great, very kid friendly. The employees/owners are so kind and helpful. They also have a dessert tamale, pineapple and raisins.
Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible. Flat parking lot, flat doorway, the door isn't automatic, plenty of room for a wheelchair of any size. Parking is quite close, so even if you can't get a handicapped spot (idk if there is more than one), it's still just a few steps to the door and back regardless of where you have to park in their lot. I have mobility issues and had no problems personally.“

“My family and I were downtown and craving Mexican food, and we were supposed to go to Los Reyes, but something was telling us to try this spot instead. So we went, and honestly, it wasn't bad at all. The food was delicious and fresh, and the price was decent. Of course, it's not as fancy looking at Los Reyes restaurant, but never judge a book by its cover. I will be coming here again.“

“We recently had the pleasure of working with Taqueria Mi Mezcal in Fairfield for a team-building event catering for 35 people, and once again, they exceeded our expectations!
Their taco spread was a hit with everyone. Guests enjoyed building their own tacos or opting for delicious nachos with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The menu included juicy asada, tender chicken, and flavorful shrimp, accompanied by four incredible salsas: green, red, pico de gallo, and a tomato-based salsa. The trimmings—lettuce and their special sauce—added the perfect finishing touch.
The food was absolutely delicious, and we received tons of compliments from attendees. The attention to detail was impeccable, from the freshness of the ingredients to the seamless delivery process. They arrived on time, helped set everything up, and ensured it was ready to serve. We requested for the refried beans to not have chorizo for our vegan participants.
This wasn’t our first time working with Taqueria Mi Mezcal, and it certainly won’t be our last. Their exceptional customer service, punctuality, and consistently outstanding food make them a go-to choice for any event.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for flavorful catering with a team that truly cares about quality and service!“

“We got a few things today and they were all delicious! I got some carnitas tacos and the carnitas had a great flavor! My dad got the seafood cocktail and some Cabeza tacos and they were all fresh and delicious. The rice was a little lacking on flavor. But I understand you have to keep the sodium down for certain diet types.
We also got some cheese enchiladas to take home for my mom
And she said there were delicious too!!
Overall we would come again for sure!“

“I was visiting from Texas and just happened to see this place from across the street. So glad we went in. Great service from amazing people. Food was excellent. Clean, clean, clean. We ordered the tacos, quesabirrias, and menudo. Tacos and Quesabirrias were great. Fresh ingredients ! I was skeptical about the menudo because everyone makes it different in Texas and it can have flavors you’re not ready for. Their menudo was great! Reminded me of my dad’s. Wish we had some of these in Texas.“

“This place is a hidden gem. My best friend and I went for lunch during the week . When you walk in the atmosphere is really great. The decor and cleanliness so inviting. They have a beautiful bar and you can see them cooking with an open flame. We sat and were greeted instantly by a very nice waiter , who presented us a pretty menu .The chips and salsa were fantastic. I ordered their long Island ice tea cocktail. It was perfect and I left not feeling jilted for a drink that barely had alcohol. This drink was amazing. I had two crispy tacos with rice and refried beans. Delicious. My best friend had the taco salad which she said was great. The waiter was attentive and the food came out quick. I would DEFINITELY recommend MARIAS TACO AND BAR!
My husband and I went back on a Saturday and the service was still fantastic. He ordered the 2 enchiladas suzas ( shredded chicken) and he was quite pleased.“

“My friend and I came here after a hard leg 🦵 day at Vacaville Strength Experience gym. The place wasn't busy until after we walked in. After getting home, my friend realized that the "breakfast menu" specifically said REFRIED BEANS & RICE come with it. My friend did notice the bag was light but was alarmed until it was too late. Also, notice that a lot of the sauce tipped over inside the plastic bag because the Styrofoam was not as surcure as it should have been. The food was VERY TASTY, but disappointing due to the amount we paid was not sufficient due to not getting what we ordered and the fact they weren't busy and knowing their menu and what comes with it. 2 stars out of 5 💜💜🖤🖤🖤“

“First time trying this place over the weekend. We were welcomed by owner and he asked if it was our first time there, we said yes, he explained the menu and asked if we had any questions. It was 5 of us and a toddler and he went to our table to take our order. I got 2 rib eye steak tacos and 1 arachera taco with everything. They are served with a chile, grilled onion, radishes, lime and potatoes. Tacos are topped with cilantro and onion. The rest of our party also got the same meat, plus one who tried the tripa meat, which I got a taste of and was crispy and tasty just how I like it. Another party member got the quesabirrias and he enjoyed them as well. We all loved a hot sause the owner told us he had just finished doing and he went to explain some of the ingredients he used. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, the service and the food was very tasty. We are looking forward to taking our other family members there.“

“California has so many Mexican restaurants and Vacaville is no exception, but in my humble opinion no place is remotely close to reach the level of Burrito express. For the price, quality and quantity it is a 10/10!
It has been nearly 2 1/2 years since I’ve lived in California and I still think this place fondly.
I doubt I’ll be returning to California anytime soon but when I do my first stop is burrito express.“

“Currently sitting here eating my posole and needed to leave a review. Wow, so so good. The flautas are big and not your average corn tortilla size. So, do not be deterred by it coming with 2, beans and rice. The tortillas are so good and fresh. The carne asada fries are top tier and the horchata…yummm!!!!“

“Not bad at all. I've always noticed this restaurant but never went in till recently. One thing about the food industry is to never judge a restaurant by its location. The price was very decent and the food was fresh and delicious. Inside was clean and full of color. A good selection of beer, too. One thing I would add is they should mount a TV in the eating area when you first enter. Either than that I highly recommend this spot.“

“This is hands down one of thee best places for tacos in Solano county. Chef Chepe and his staff are always on point. The food is fresh, and full of flavor. I've tried the tamales, burritos and some of their specials but the tacos are a 12/10 everytime!“
“I've been going here for years. Even better post covid. Cheap good food! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. It is a gas station, so there's not much to expect, but it's clean, and I'm always open to grabbing a burrito from here. Cheers!“

“I have been seeing this truck for over a month and had to wait until Lent was over to try it out. It has been hard finding Birria Tacos that are good and have a consistent consume. I ordered 4 tacos for me and a burrito for my husband. I can't eat in the car, and I always need to add spices and things to my consume like lime, cayenne, garlic pepper, and Tapatio, but I was able to taste the burrito and it was good! I knew we were on to something when I didn't hear any complaints from my husband ??. I love ❤️ Horchata and was pleasantly surprised when I tasted theirs. He says they order theirs from Mexico and add what's needed. I like that it doesn't have the starchy after-taste and not watered down. It's nice and thick -- dessert over ice ! I will definitely be back!!! ?“

“An Absolute Hidden Gem – A Must-Visit!
La Costa Azul is hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had—and that’s saying something. Tucked away just off the freeway, it’s easy to miss, but do not pass it by. It’s a short detour that rewards you with an unforgettable meal and genuinely warm hospitality.
From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed like family. Although we weren’t familiar with the menu at first and felt a bit out of place, the incredibly friendly staff went out of their way to guide us through it, with enthusiasm and kindness. Their love for the food they serve is obvious—and it’s infectious.
And the food? Wow. Every dish came out with beautiful presentation and portions that were as generous as they were delicious. The flavors were bold, authentic, and full of heart. We’re still talking about every bite!
Now, let’s talk about that michelada mixer—absolutely the best I’ve ever had. It’s no wonder it’s award-winning. We couldn’t leave without grabbing two bottles to take home so we could relive the experience just a little longer.
The staff even checked in during the meal, and their faces lit up with pride when we raved about how incredible everything was. That genuine joy and hospitality made our visit even more special.
If you’re even remotely nearby—go. Right now. La Costa Azul is a true treasure, and we can’t wait to come back.“

“This place screams “local,” and in a good way! Actually, that isn't true. The place welcomes you like you are long-standing customer, even when you aren't.
Tucked into a nondescript, old school, strip mall a few blocks off the freeway, you have either live here or stumble upon it. Our group was in the latter category. And thank goodness we did!
Incredibly warm and friendly customer service. Tasty tacos. Nicely varied salsas and fresh pico. A range of drinks. Checks all the boxes for a quick lunch, take out, or even dinner (as their menu is extensive without being overwhelming). The dining room? It is functional and does the job.
Any time my group is in the area, we will be stopping here. And I would recommend others take the time to discover this place.
Thanks for a great experience. It was the perfect stop on our annual trip.“

“I ordered the Asada burrito size medium and a chicken burrito size medium the total was $30 so i was shocked a little but they burrito is very large and filling. I wish there was more meat inside it was mainly rice and other toppings i feel they could’ve been a bit more generous with the protein. Service was great and food came out fast and was hot. Refried beans they use in the burrito are seasoned well too. Overall a good burrito but for the price I’d expect a little more meat.“

“Last minute lunch today and we stopped by, the place is beautiful and the workers were kind. The food was delicious after a long day. Only thing is we didn’t get tortillas with our plates, would’ve been nice to eat my beans and rice with it, and the rice was kinda dry. Salsa wasn’t too spicy, it balanced nicely, the guacamole that came with the quesadilla was delicious too. The shredded beef(carnitas, I think) in my tacos was the best part. I would recommend going in after a day of shopping.
Kid-friendliness: The place isn’t too bright and is very visually pleasing.“
