Restaurantji's Fairfield guide: Where to find the ultimate Mexican flavors. Taste the finest Taco Salad, Birria, Quesadilla, and more in the city.
“Came here on a Saturday afternoon craving some Mexican food with some friends and it was really good! I ordered the carnitas quesadilla and of course a birria taco. The meat was nice and juicy, well seasoned and loved the rice and beans. The service was nice and friendly and I believe that it was just a husband and wife duo cooking and serving guests so good job on them for holding it down (: The restaurant was clean, no complaints from here really. I'd definitely eat here again (:“
“My husband and I ordered take out from El Pitayo after reading the amazing reviews. We ordered enchiladas and chile rellenos. The food was amazing, not greasy or overly salty. And the tortillas were handmade! Flour and corn! We ordered Jamaica and the Oatmilk Horchata. AMAZING! We plan to turn into regulars!“
“Best Mexican Food in Solano County. Hands down. Great Margaritas, Tacos, Tamales, and Quesabirriria! My go to dish. We go there every week. Family run with great atmosphere. Love the Mural in the back room. Staff is personable and very helpful.“
“We ordered pickup at the counter. The staff was very friendly and nice. We got tacos and enchiladas. Everything was great and we loved their salsa and guacamole. I would recommend if you are in town and like authentic Mexican food to definitely stop by.“
“My work friends and I go to Chevy’s for lunch or dinner and we always enjoy the great service and tasty food. Our favorite lunch server is Linda, and our favorite dinner server is Andrea. Both are always super attentive, friendly, and check on us long after our meal is over and we’re chatting for hours.“
“What a gem! Came here because my usual mexican restaurant was 2 hr wait. The lady working the front is amazing, had me try the very deliscious cantalope agua fresca. Yumyumyum! Then we ordered a carnitas wet burrito, pastor super nachos, and many birria tacos. My soul smiled with each bite, seriously so dang good I was amazed food like this existed in the mall food court. Simply THANK YOU! GREAT SERVICE, MENU, PRICES, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY TASTE!“
“I recently moved into this area, and I'm so happy I found this taco truck right around the corner from where I live. I decided to try their super burrito of carne asada and first bite I fell in love. Their meat is so freaking delicious! I thought it was well distributed with all of the ingredients (rice, beans, sour cream, avo, meat) and although size wise it's not as big, because it's packed up with food it's very filling! The workers are friendly and they don't take too long to prepare your food. The wait time is about 15 minutes for them to cook everything. I also tried their horchata and it was okay, I think I've tasted better elsewhere, but it wasn't entirely horrible. I would get it again. A few nights ago, I decided to try one of their tortas, and it comes with complimentary fries on the side. When I tell you my mouth fell open when I opened my box, it did 100%. I couldn't believe how HUGE this torta was. Mind you, both the burrito and torta are around $13, and I believe the torta is worth more to get due to it being bigger in size and it also comes with French fries. The location of this truck offers plenty parking and although many people come to buy from it, there's hardly a long wait to order. I'm so so happy I live close by to it so I can come whenever I want. I hope they never move far! If you're ever in the area, stop by!“
“Great Tacos!!! they're$getting smaller almost three dollars each. Still chrispy or soft and worth the price. The junior chicken Burrito was really good and only $6.99. For for $10 you can get a good chicken burrito and a taco. Drink water just ask for the cup.Parking: Parking in back..lotsWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“The place is a little runned down and right next to a homeless camp. The atmosphere is not ideal.Their tacos are to die for!! All of their meat selections are amazing. The taco salad would have been good if the shell wasn't so oily.I would recommend coming here during the day time! :)“
“Fast food stop right off Interstate 80. We usually stop here on the way from San Jose to Nevada County. It is an easy hop on/hop off stop. We usually order breakfast or the seafood tacos. The staff are friendly and service is quick. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean. They have outside tables so we can sit and have a taco with our dogs on the patio. Great for a quick rest stop, walk the dogs and a quick bite to eat.“
“4.5 StarsOk where do I start?! We had carne asada and chicken tacos. They were $1 each! These are really small street tacos folks...about the size of a small round donut. But worth that dollar for sure. The steak was tender, fresh, and really tasty. There was a tiny bit of salsa on the tacos so next time I'll ask for extra. Hubby liked the chicken but preferred the steak. The beans and rice had so much flavor! I love them with tortilla chips but you have to have your own since they don't provide any. Dinner (and leftovers) for 2 was $17.35!The lady taking orders was sweet and professional. The location is inside the Chevron gas station on the corner of W. Texas & Pennsylvania. There is no outward signage to indicate such but just park and go inside. You will see the large menu blackboard straight ahead once you enter the Chevron mini mart. Yes there are 1 or 2 homeless (looking) individuals outside but they won't bite. Enjoy! We'll be back for sure.“
“This is hands down one of thee best places for tacos in Solano county. Chef Chepe and his staff are always on point. The food is fresh, and full of flavor. I've tried the tamales, burritos and some of their specials but the tacos are a 12/10 everytime!“
“Delicious food and quite possibly the best made burrito I've had. Probably helps that I came off off hours but damn it was good. Carnitas--primo. My teen got the tostada and was quite pleased with the carne asada as well. Would definitely recommend!“
“The food was prepared on the spot, fresh and hot. We had the birria tacos with consome, bomb! The tacos dorados de papa were spot on, too. We also tried their creme brulee, which was delicious! The young lady that attended to us was very kind, patient, and thorough. We went around 630pm on a Monday and they weren't busy, there was one other small party there and they had a few DoorDash pickups. Definitely will be back to try other items on the menu!“
“This little corner Mexicana speciale was amazing. To gush is nothing. I decided to try it on our vacation and the hospitality was short of amazing. The Horchata was incredible, the coffee freshly made by the sweetheart behind the counter, my fish tacos had so much depth of flavour, I loved the fresh ingredients. I adore this little found treasure!!!“
“Mami Chuy Tacos popped up in my FB Solano County SFC and saw a post for birra ramen and it was enticing enough for me to drive down to the food truck and get some. Unfortunately, they got booted at their S&F plaza location and they're across the street by by Walgreens, which is a better spot underneath the shaded trees. This is an unassuming food truck presenting a smaller menu but quickly delivers great flavors! Was there for there ramen, but they sold out...so we ordered two of their 3-queso-birra taco combos which included grilled onions, jalapeños/carrot/radish side pickles, and their mouthwatering dipping sauce, husband couldn't not get enough of it and killed his order under a minute. The kid enjoyed their el pastor quesadilla w/ a side of sour cream and avo/guac dip! Loved the freshly diced pico as a bonus! Also ordered up some refreshing piña aguas frescas and horchata. They're honoring a more simplistic no-frills menu and commits to a flavorful and scrumptious bite. The hubby & kid truly enjoyed! Support your local business! The two person team shows their hard work and dedication in their food! Muchas gracias and we'll cya again soon!“
“Great food @ a very reasonable price. You WILL NOT be disappointed with ANY appetizer or entree. Fabuloso!!Vegetarian options: Available.Kid-friendliness: Very goid.Parking: Nominal number of spaces. ...especially @ peak hoursWheelchair accessibility: One curb off parking area.“
“This is the second time I've tried this place, and they do not disappoint! The tacos are flavorful with tender meat, and at an amazing price. They put just the right amount of toppings so miraculously none of it falls off. Definitely one of my fave taco places around Fairfield.“
“Stopped by while my kid was in boxing just for a snack, his coach recommended this place. Saw a soup I've never heard of and was intrigued. " Carne en su Jugo" was what it was called. And I'm glad I tried it because it was REALLY GOOD!!! Light yet hearty and tasted so Bomb. The man at the counter was really nice and came out to check if I liked the soup. Great service and prices not too crazy. It pays to try new things and this place didn't disappoint.“
“Really good tacos ! We come from Oakland where tacos are top tier and it's been hard to find a place that makes good tacos around here but Mi hacienda does a really good job super taste tacos . The owner is really friendly as well. Definitely recommend!“
“This is the best spot to get authentic Mexican food and at very reasonable prices. We had chili reanos and a lengua chimichanga, they were both exceptional. The chimichangas come with guacamole and sour cream for no extra charge! It is very nice that you can help yourself to chips and many salsas along with jalapenos and limes for no extra charge. My family prefers going to this restaurant over all of the other choices in the area. The people who work there are always polite and friendly, a family atmosphere. Please tip them well, you will still save money, and they are worth it.A lot of people order door dash and the like here.Definitely a once a week stop for us.Kid-friendliness: They treat my daughter like she was their own.“
“Food and service was excellent. Husband got fajitas loaded with steak, peppers, onions, and tomatoes. I got the Taco salad which was wonderful. I couldn't come close to finishing it as it was big enough for 3 along with the chips. Chips were thicker than I like (almost like a cracker) but salsa and hot green dip were both great; also very fresh guac. Tabletops were nice, glass over colorful cloth that cleans up well (versus gummy wood). Seats need to be repaired as they were in very bad shape but otherwise a positive experience. Didn't use bathroom. Everything appeared clean. Would recommend.“
“Love this place too much. I moved to Fairfield from Oakland and was afraid I wouldn’t find a new favorite spot but I did in La Costa Azul! Their workers are super sweet and professional whether you’re ordering out or eating in! The Carne Asada fries es MUY MUY BUENO “
“The tacos here are outstanding, for 2.50 a taco it blows 6 dollar tacos out of the water. The service is wonderful, food served quickly, freshly and still steaming. 10/10 reccomend this food truck. A little diamond in the rough if you ask me.!“
“I ordered through DoorDash. The tacos were very crispy and flavorful. The super burrito was amazing. The RICE is to die for!! The rices gives the burrito the flavor it needs. Very good. The steak was ok. Some bites the steak was very charred and you could taste the charred bits. The tacos didn't have cheese. But besides that the food was delicious. I will order from them again“
“Taco Express is actually pretty amazing. There's so many good options. They have food truck quality burritos and restaraunt quality dishes. The place doesn't look great, but if you're looking for some great mexican fast food, this is the place. The crunchy tacos are soooo good by the way. A must try.“
“It's sooooo delicious. They're homemade ice cream and ice cream bars. I've ordered just about everything on their menu and I haven't been disappointed thus far. If you're looking for a place to have a treat I suggest you go here. Something for everyone.“
“The combination burrito ? was excellent and tasted just like I remembered it, however the ground beef taco was too crispy and did not have enough parmesan cheese on it. Overall the meal was great and I will be returning next time I am in the area. Also, I highly recommend trying the creme filled churros, they are amazing.“
“Closest to San Jose. This is a compliment. San Jose knows great Mexican food. Especially the hole in the wall places. This is far from a hole in the wall but extremely close to that type of food. Every time we come here we are reminded of San Jose. The food is always cooked to perfection. I love their fajita burrito. Order it wet. You won't be disappointed. Their bartenders also can make a mean drink. They share a parking lot with a Chuck E. Cheese. Don't be discouraged if the parking lot looks full. They have parking on the side of the building. Definitely try them if you haven't. You won't be disappointed.“
“If I want to eatThae best satisfying meaL I would have is at north Texas taco for healthy clean fresh tasty varieties of choicesMany choices best services nice atmosphereKid-friendliness: My grandson always finished his meal and enjoying taste sad loved to come back always“
“Why did I order the Molcajete??? Because the server told me it was really really good!!! Well she lied!!!!!! It wasn't good...it was freaking amazing!!!!!! You get a really good portion so it's shareable if you have your boo with you and you're feeling extra sweet. Otherwise, you'll want to keep it to yourself and take your leftovers home for later. The owners should put a star next to this dish in the menu with a warning "Do not order this unless you live nearby and can come back to eat it again soon!" I'm only here visiting family for a few hours and then I'll be gone. I'm in my feelings 'cause I know I'm going to want to eat this dish again soon. All the different meats were seasoned perfectly and tender to ear and so delicious. It was my first time trying cactus! Not bad! A little tangy bite and complemented the dish well. The cheese was really good! The service and ambiance was great as well. Not a really big spot but big enough for families and possibly a large group if not crowded. I will definitely return if I'm in the area again. Until then...I'll be hunting for a similar dish to satisfy my taste buds #JamersonEATS“
