“We got a few things today and they were all delicious! I got some carnitas tacos and the carnitas had a great flavor! My dad got the seafood cocktail and some Cabeza tacos and they were all fresh and delicious. The rice was a little lacking on flavor. But I understand you have to keep the sodium down for certain diet types.
We also got some cheese enchiladas to take home for my mom
And she said there were delicious too!!

Super nice, friendly older man behind the counter helped me pick an item when I told him it was my first time visiting; ordered the Birria Taco plate.
Food came quickly. Rice and beans were very good. Tacos looked absolutely mouth watering, but unfortunately were boring. The cheese was excellent, as was the tortillas, but the Birria meat was almost flavorless and the cup of dipping sauce was basically onion water. Maybe those air force folks can't take any heat, but I would at least expect a strong Birria flavor.
I really wanted to love this place as much as the locals, but maybe I'm too spoiled.
I'll be back and try the carne asada. Everything else but the meat was very good.“

“We recently had the pleasure of working with Taqueria Mi Mezcal in Fairfield for a team-building event catering for 35 people, and once again, they exceeded our expectations!

Their taco spread was a hit with everyone. Guests enjoyed building their own tacos or opting for delicious nachos with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The menu included juicy asada, tender chicken, and flavorful shrimp, accompanied by four incredible salsas: green, red, pico de gallo, and a tomato-based salsa. The trimmings—lettuce and their special sauce—added the perfect finishing touch.

The food was absolutely delicious, and we received tons of compliments from attendees. The attention to detail was impeccable, from the freshness of the ingredients to the seamless delivery process. They arrived on time, helped set everything up, and ensured it was ready to serve. We requested for the refried beans to not have chorizo for our vegan participants.

This wasn’t our first time working with Taqueria Mi Mezcal, and it certainly won’t be our last. Their exceptional customer service, punctuality, and consistently outstanding food make them a go-to choice for any event.

“We had a group of 8 college friends meet there on a Saturday afternoon for a mini reunion. None of us had ever eaten there before so it was a nice surprise to find this off-the-beaten path restaurant. While it is in a shopping center, they did have outdoor seating that turned out to be adequate for our group. The outdoor tables are round & right next to the parking lot; but we pushed 6 tables together & fortunately it was a quiet day at the shopping center, so the noise level was low. They have a large selection of dishes to be ordered for lunch or dinner. I had the albondigas soup & thought it was great. I don't believe anyone complained about their food. My husband ordered the skirt steak fajitas & liked it. The margaritas are huge, and while not heavy on the alcohol, were pleasant tasting. After the wind came up, we decided to move inside to their one large table that seats 8-9 people comfortably. We stayed there for a total of about 5 1/2 hours & never felt rushed to leave. Our waiter was very patient & accommodating for us, quite attentive (i.e., he never forgot about us sitting out there on the sidewalk by the parking lot), and gave really excellent service, which we rewarded quite handsomely. Overall, the food is good, they have a full bar inside & the service was excellent. I would definitely go there again!“

“I’ve been coming to Chicken Express for over 20+ years. They are known for their Mexican Rotisserie Chicken. You can order plates or family meals. What’s cool about this place is that you can get tortillas, salsas and Spanish rice with your chicken as well as more traditional sides such as coleslaw, garlic bread and potato salad.

I go the 12 pice family meal which came with choice of tortillas or garlic bread and 2 large sides (I got coleslaw and Spanish rice). The chicken was delicious like usual and the coleslaw tastes a lot like KFC’s coleslaw which I like. The garlic bread was a little soggy by the time I brought it home and could benefit from a little more seasoning. The Spanish rice also could be slightly more flavorful. They used to have a salsa bar where you can get your own salsa, but I did not see one and they did not include any in my togo which was disappointing (I did not realize until I got home).

They have a parking lot behind the restaurant with a decent amount of parking, but be aware of your surroundings (particularly as it gets dark) because it’s a little sketchy there due to some homeless hanging out there. This location is on the busy North Texas Street, so pulling out of the parking lot can take a bit if you need to make a left turn to go east on North Texas St.

If you want some delicious rotisserie chicken, this is the place to go. They have locations in Fairfield, Suisun and Vallejo. The least sketchy location would be at the Suisun location.“

“As of this review October 2025, they say all their beans are vegan, so I was able to choose between whole black, whole pinto, or refried. Besides that, it's a familiar experience for anyone who's had Cali-mex, but in my opinion it's better than average with free chips and nice salsas, less greasy than normal while still being tasty, very affordable, and friendly people.“
