“We were driving between East Bay and Sac airport and found this place on line. After 9 years in the Bay Area, this may be the best Mexican food I have tasted in the Bay. Larry had carnitas enchiladas and I had an asada quesadilla. We will be back!!!“

“We got a few things today and they were all delicious! I got some carnitas tacos and the carnitas had a great flavor! My dad got the seafood cocktail and some Cabeza tacos and they were all fresh and delicious. The rice was a little lacking on flavor. But I understand you have to keep the sodium down for certain diet types.
We also got some cheese enchiladas to take home for my mom
And she said there were delicious too!!

Super nice, friendly older man behind the counter helped me pick an item when I told him it was my first time visiting; ordered the Birria Taco plate.
Food came quickly. Rice and beans were very good. Tacos looked absolutely mouth watering, but unfortunately were boring. The cheese was excellent, as was the tortillas, but the Birria meat was almost flavorless and the cup of dipping sauce was basically onion water. Maybe those air force folks can't take any heat, but I would at least expect a strong Birria flavor.
I really wanted to love this place as much as the locals, but maybe I'm too spoiled.
I'll be back and try the carne asada. Everything else but the meat was very good.“

“I don't live in town anymore, but am always going here whenever I come home to visit. The carnitas is amazing and the chips here are pretty sturdy so the nachos are always really really good. Sometimes the service might be slow but I think it's worth it.“

“We recently had the pleasure of working with Taqueria Mi Mezcal in Fairfield for a team-building event catering for 35 people, and once again, they exceeded our expectations!

Their taco spread was a hit with everyone. Guests enjoyed building their own tacos or opting for delicious nachos with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The menu included juicy asada, tender chicken, and flavorful shrimp, accompanied by four incredible salsas: green, red, pico de gallo, and a tomato-based salsa. The trimmings—lettuce and their special sauce—added the perfect finishing touch.

The food was absolutely delicious, and we received tons of compliments from attendees. The attention to detail was impeccable, from the freshness of the ingredients to the seamless delivery process. They arrived on time, helped set everything up, and ensured it was ready to serve. We requested for the refried beans to not have chorizo for our vegan participants.

This wasn’t our first time working with Taqueria Mi Mezcal, and it certainly won’t be our last. Their exceptional customer service, punctuality, and consistently outstanding food make them a go-to choice for any event.

“We had a group of 8 college friends meet there on a Saturday afternoon for a mini reunion. None of us had ever eaten there before so it was a nice surprise to find this off-the-beaten path restaurant. While it is in a shopping center, they did have outdoor seating that turned out to be adequate for our group. The outdoor tables are round & right next to the parking lot; but we pushed 6 tables together & fortunately it was a quiet day at the shopping center, so the noise level was low. They have a large selection of dishes to be ordered for lunch or dinner. I had the albondigas soup & thought it was great. I don't believe anyone complained about their food. My husband ordered the skirt steak fajitas & liked it. The margaritas are huge, and while not heavy on the alcohol, were pleasant tasting. After the wind came up, we decided to move inside to their one large table that seats 8-9 people comfortably. We stayed there for a total of about 5 1/2 hours & never felt rushed to leave. Our waiter was very patient & accommodating for us, quite attentive (i.e., he never forgot about us sitting out there on the sidewalk by the parking lot), and gave really excellent service, which we rewarded quite handsomely. Overall, the food is good, they have a full bar inside & the service was excellent. I would definitely go there again!“

“As of this review October 2025, they say all their beans are vegan, so I was able to choose between whole black, whole pinto, or refried. Besides that, it's a familiar experience for anyone who's had Cali-mex, but in my opinion it's better than average with free chips and nice salsas, less greasy than normal while still being tasty, very affordable, and friendly people.“

“I don't know why no one has mentioned this place before but they have one of the best by burritos I have ever had.
It's an honest burrito with a lot of meat, not just a load of beans and rice.

“The Highs: The chicken taco was pretty darn good. I enjoyed it. The shell has a nice crunch to it. The chicken was seasoned well My friend enjoyed her el pastor tacos as well. The chicken quesadilla really set it off for me. It was flavorful, nice portion size and I enjoyed the dip that came with it also.
The Lows: The food was kinda expensive. It was about $60 for a to go order of 6 tacos and a quesadilla and a drink. While the food was good, not sure if the price was worth it considering all of the other Mexican food options nearby. Also, the tacos didn't come with any sides (rice, beans, etc.) which was unfortunate for the price.
The In-Between: We found this place on Instagram based on a video review someone did. The parking was a little tough. The service was cool for our to go order.“
