Based on the reviews, Makse Restaurant in Vacaville offers a mix of fine dining and a cozy Holiday feel. The atmosphere is nice, though there can be a loud bunch at times. The food is flavorful and tastes fresh, not frozen. The short rib plate was especially delicious on its bed of mashed potatoes, and the vegetables were charged to perfection. The ribeye dinner was cooked perfectly, and starters like calamari, bread and butter, and sea scallops were all amazing. The Smoked Cherry Old Fashion is a standout drink. Service is great, with friendly and attentive staff, including a server named Drew who showed guests around and provided excellent service. One guest noted that a request for fries instead of mashed potatoes got lost, but the meal was still enjoyable. Guests have traveled to Italy and Greece and found this restaurant provided the perfect blend of European tastes. Many plan to return and experience the Speakeasy.
