Original post:We have been loyal customers for over 6 months now and very much appreciate having a halal food option open late. However recently things have changed at Capitol Gyros.

The employee frequently says they are out of things when he is too lazy to either cook or clean. He will say they’re out of fries 30 mins before closing, or most recently, said they close at 11:45 now. If that’s is the case they should update their hours to reflect that instead of wasting customers time. The unpredictability of the menu items and operating hours make dining here extremely frustrating.

We love this place and it is a shame to see it go so far downhill because of an employees laziness. When the usual employee works we do not have this issue. It is the new employee that they have that has been causing issues and the business to lose money. The new employee also makes the food poorly, often dripping in grease.“

“It's a nice halal restaurant with good food, loving staff, and great service. It wasn't very crowded when I got there and we got there almost around closing. 10/10 Would eat there again.“

“Peeked in some time ago and it I didn't quite trust the ambiance. It always seemed not busy. Food imagery posted outside and on the wall menu aren't the most appealing. Also can't see the kitchen so I wasn't sure if it was a spot that simply microwaves pre prepped food. I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped by when my usual spot was swamped with conference attendees. I got the Chicken on Rice. Excellent quality of cuts with no gristle or tendons in sight, fluffy rice, crispy fresh greens. Fantastic flavor explosions. They use compostable takeout containers. A+ would recommend.“

“I just ordered their lamb seekh kabab that so yummy and we tried their chicken plater which was amazing had a great fresh salad with juicy grilled chicken chunks. I will definitely come back . The customer service was very friendly and nice .“

“Tried Bollywood pizza after hearing about it from friends, and ordered the butter chicken pizza. The crust is pretty good and the pizza was flavourful. I’d say that the butter chicken flavour could have been incorporated even more, but everything else was pretty good! Asked for a lassi, but they sadly didn’t have any.“

“My dad has been a customer since the mid 90’s when they opened. We’ve been going there for years. Though we weren’t aware of how things would change with the new ownership, The food has always been good and the environment has always been great. We have always experienced great customer service after learning about the new ownership.
Was a little skeptical about the change of ownership, but after trying this place out we can guarantee that the taste has not changed one bit. The place is super clean. We will continue to be customers!“

“This location has the best fried chicken in the area. The food is always fresh and hot and crispy. Sometimes they run daily specials. As I’ve heard the staff say before “ we have whole foods quality with Walmart prices” this location really does have the lowest pricing. You can’t get a Freshly made chicken sandwich for 4.99 anywhere else.“

The Chicken 65 was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the Apollo Fish had just the right amount of spice kick. Each dish was seasoned to perfection and served piping hot. “The service is always excellent. They are friendly and make it a great place to eat at. And the bonus is, the food is excellent! I get the fried prawns, scallops and cod and fries or fried green beans. Potato salad is great too and their dipping sauces are great. I go there weekly or every other week. I grab Mel a lot so sometimes I go in late and they are open until 11:00. Love this place“

“I have been a regular at Watan Halal Market and they never disappoint! Their fresh calf meat is always top quality, clean, tender and perfect for cooking. The meat I recently bought (pictured below) is a great example of the freshness and care they put into their products. We have also tried several local pizza places, including Twist, but my kids always prefer Watan’s pizza. It’s flavorful, well made, and perfect for family nights. Highly recommend Watan Halal Market for both your halal meat needs and a delicious pizza treat!“

“Went here in 2022 and it was ok. Never went back. Recently I went with friend who swears by this spot and its changed for the better.
Chicken was nice and flavorful.. Jamaican pasta was nice... burgers are also really good. Especially the spicy Honey chicken sandwich.

Sometimes items on the menu aren't available.
Definitely it can get pricey here when ordering from your family.
There is a difference between the gyro and gyro wrap. Gyro wrap is more a like burrito so Definitely give it a shot!“
