“Traditional Salvadorean Cuisine in the SFV✨
Our first time trying Salvadorean food at this family owned restaurant in Reseda.
Carlos gave us some great recommendations so we ended up trying pupusas for the first time. It’s made with a homemade corn dough. It’s thicker than a regular corn tortilla and stuffed with ground pork and cheese. They have a variety of fillings. You can add salsa roja, a flavorful tomato-based sauce or habanero sauce. Served with Curtido, a tangy, fermented cabbage slaw. So crispy, cheesy and filling. It came burning hot - I could barely hold it. 😂 But, I would definitely order this again! ☺️
We tried Desayuno Típico, a traditional Salvadoran breakfast, which came with casamiento (beans and rice mixed together), Salvadorean style chorizo, fried plantains, 2 eggs, avocado, fresh cheese and Salvadorean style sour cream and homemade corn tortillas.

“The pupusas were delicious. They were the perfect thickness; there was plenty of filing, and the masa was not too thick. Cooked to perfection, they were not greasy at all. We enjoyed a nice selection of the different types offered. Our party included a Salvadoran who knows his pupusas. We also ordered a plate of rice, beans, and fried plantains. They were wonderful. We definitely will be going back. The staff were courteous and very helpful. Everything was clean and tidy inside of the restaurant.“

“Delicious hot food, refreshing drinks, and fresh papusas. Friendly, fast service. Some entres tend to be very light on salt. A request I have for this place is to please place bilingual signage in front of each food item for easy identification and ordering. Although, they do have a menu on the wall, it's difficult to read for some. Other than that, food is fresh, hot, and delicious!“

“Pupusas are delicious! I’ve tried many different restaurants in the valley and this one by far takes it. They are off of Foothill Blvd (in front of the Vons) Tuesday-Sunday. Hours vary from 9:30. Very affordable and they have an area where you can sit and eat. Also very clean, gloves are used to prepare your food.“

“I went in 20 minutes before closing when you’d expect the worst service but actually I received the best service! After my terrible experience with Mi Casita on Vanowen and Kester, I came here as my last resort. My pupusas were filled with flavor and not dry at all, the sauce was great and the curtido could of been better it takes more refrigerated. They also sell charamuscas here and their horchata is the best. The ladies were extremely nice and I got my order in less than 15 minutes. I’m definitely coming back here!“

“Parking is horrible. Not their fault. Their sweet bread is delicious. A lot of talking between the employees it's hard to hear when they are asking you a question. The bakery itself is very small. I haven't tried their food but the sweet bread is good.“

“Best pupusas in Arleta, I recommend the gallina asada soup (delicious), sopa de res and the sopa de pata. Also the mojarra frita if you want to eat well and have real nutrients come here. It's a nice place to eat there as well they have a nice patio in front of the road where you can relax. 🫡 Estelitas Forever!“

“The food is amazing, everything is fresh and made when you ordered, this is authentic Salvadoran food, the pupusas is a must have and the yuca frita is amazing, and the owner works really hard to make the experience in the restaurant a family experience. However there are some costumer who are very demanding and want everything on the spot, you need to understand the goodness take same to complete the sircle. If you went through the food on the spot otdeysge“

“Oh, foods that I missed eating from my country and here I find them, even their seasoning is the same as mine, how funny he is, Salvador, it's good that here they haven't lost the reason for cooking, it's knowing that he doesn't just cook for a client, yes. not for someone in the family.“

“Delicious! Amazing food! Great service! My fish fillet with rice, beans and salad was very tasty. The scrambled pupusas also taste great.Passion fruit water tastes exactly as it should, not too sweet and not too sour, just the necessary flavor to refresh and quench thirst.Portions are very large, cater to the ferocious appetite, well I think so.The place is not very big, but the service is very good. I would definitely go back!!! test passed.“
“5 stars - A Holiday Treat!
We had the pleasure of enjoying Christmas lunch with family at this amazing, family-owned authentic El Salvadoran restaurant, and it was such a treat! 🌮❤️ The flavors were absolutely incredible, and the warm, inviting atmosphere made it feel like the perfect holiday gathering spot. The locals were so welcoming and personal, and the staff/owner were incredibly kind and amazing. As a special touch, they even gifted us a homemade order of plantain bananas with fresh handmade sour cream – it was so delicious, it literally melted in my mouth! Highly recommend if you're in the mood for a true El Salvadoran dining experience! Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! 🎅🎄“

“I give it a 4 stars because my 7 mares soup was missing seafood, even though it did taste very good. Their carne asada, to my taste, it could have tasted better. Their pupusas revueltas, definitely great. And the waitress was friendly with a smile on her face. ☺️ altogether the bill was $90. 4pupusas, 1siete mares and 1 carne asada plate and 3 drinks. You be the judge if it is pricey or just about right?.“

“They have a special that runs on Thursdays with pupusas revueltas 🔥👏😋, which love and appreciate. They dont give tiny pupusas because they're on special. They give you a good portion size one. I also get other pupusas and they're incredible as well, and the salsa is actually pretty impressive compared others. I'd definitely recommend their food. I always order mine to go and they're this sweet cashier who's customer service is top tier. Ill get her name next time 😉.“

“I found this little gem of a restaurant by accident, and I love it. They feature Mexican/Salvadoran/Central American foods in a clean, efficient atmosphere. If you order the handmade tortillas, they will be the thicker variety common to El Salvador, but the thinner Mexican style are also available.I love the dish menudo, and here it is available daily, not just Saturday and Sunday. In addition, the restaurant features a bakery, and a selection of delicious pan dulce is offered daily. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. I will be back many times.“

“This place is definitely a hole in the wall. It’s nothing fancy. But for those who know, it seriously looks just like grandmas kitchen and has that at home feeling to it. The service is desperately terrible but none of any of that matters because the food is ridiculously amazing! If you enjoy Salvadoran cuisine, you can catch someone’s grandma in the kitchen making pupusas and they taste insanely authentic and possibly the best I have ever had hands down. I can wolf down 4 “Revueltas” or “Queso con Loroco” with cheese oozing out of the sides and burnt crispy in a bliss of goodness. The sauce and cabbage that goes on top is incredible. This place is as home made Salvadoran as you might ever get without traveling to the suburbs of San Salvador and sitting at someone’s grandmas kitchen table. This is a must stop for anyone craving a good pupusa!“

“Was skeptical coming in, but now that I did, I was missing out. The food quality is amazing. Can't think of another place like this. Expect humble and casual which for the prize is expected. Can't stop talking about the food quality and flavor, it beats almost all places out there. Extra stars because my mom loves it too! Caldo de gallina is her favorite, and pupusas mixtas I ordered where delicious and perfect size!“

“We like this place so much! Pupusas are Okay. The dishes are delicious, the place is good and clean. The service is good (the girls/ waitress are attentive but it could be a bit faster, sometimes they take so long to give you the food, so prepare yourself for a long waiting…“
“The pupusas are good, the pata soup is given to you without any nerve and pansa, just vegetables and soup that taste good, but that's why I won't buy the plantain empanadas again, they are terrible, I had to throw them away, they should improve the quesadillas if they are good and the pupusas.“

“I loved the very delicious pupusas, well toasted without much oil, you have to order them before arriving at the restaurant about 30 minutes, otherwise you want to wait for them to be warm and delicious to eat. The chocolate was very sweet but with a little more milk it solves it. Thank you
Parking: The parking lot is small but adequate, if not full, it has an excellent location.“

“I've only really been in for Pupusa, the ones that you see advertised so clearly out front. They don't tell you on the sign that they're mini, they also don't tell you that it actually is $15. Both to me are fine, I read the reviews before and knew what I was getting. I just think it could be advertised more clearly. The pupusa themselves, no matter what size are delicious. I mix em up, 5 revualtas and 5 chichiron. They are great, the curtido is flavorful and fresh. I enjoy their food, would try more but prefer pupusa when eating Salvadoran. I only deducted the star because this place is always dead, nobody there. What's up with that, it's got a good location. It's not very updated inside. The service is great. I recommend this place if you just wanna get some pupusa to go.“

Lol...the atol de elote..mmm...and the little almidon bread (3/ 1 dollar) mmm very satisfying dinner!! And dessert! Yes, I'm coming back again! And yes, I recommend! (It's a Salvadorian food place, with the usual, purposas, yuca con chicharron, etc etc...everything fresh and made when you order! So if you are in a hurry, call and order ahead!“

“Wonderful food! But more importantly, wonderful customer service. Ordered through doordash (little late night snack) and no dasher accepted the order. I called the resturant, 5 minutes before closing assuming they would just cancel my order. Instead they said we will drop it off ourselves! Not only did they deliver within 15 minutes, the included a couple sodas as an apology. GREAT experience with them will definitely be ordering again!!!“

“Very good food. For my taste, they have the best pupusas in the entire valley and a delicious chicken soup. The waitresses serve you very well and with respect. The only reason I give 4 stars is because they take a long time to bring you the food. I wish they could improve that.“
