“I would say this is one of the better diners/coffee shops in the valley. I stopped in for my first time this morning and was pleasantly surprised, it was actually better than I was expecting. It’s a traditional American diner complete with fast service, fair prices, and a huge menu. There is a large free parking lot attached in the back otherwise free street parking is also easy to find. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out within 10 minutes.

For my breakfast I chose the Sausage Patty Benedict and added avocado and really enjoyed it. It was better than it looks in the photos. The sausage is grilled so it has that nice grill flavor and the hollandaise was not too watery. I also got a side of sliced tomatoes and would suggest trying them too as a side. Inside is pretty large with counter, booth, and table seating and can host many different size groups. I would highly recommend and will be back again in the future.“

“I had the same server as two years and ago and she’s still awesome. I wish I could remember her name :) I go every time I come to visit from Maryland. The food always hits the spot. I just miss the tree stumps. Other than that there’s 3 things to look forward to in Simi Valley-good friends, Smiley face hill and Jerry’s Coffee Shop. :)“

“This place is the worst unless you also have small screaming children, or you're deaf because all you hear is the scraping of the chairs, none stop! Customer service is very iffy, at best. Left with a headache from the racket.“

“I come and have dinner at this restaurant since 2007 when my kids were little but now I only take my wife for a dinner sometimes and a good reason for it, is that we both enjoy how they treat us.
I came tonight again and they had my house keys i left on the seat last time i was there and they had them saved to give back to me.
I always recommend this location.

“Denny’s is a pleasant place to eat. I like the ambiance and it’s very clean. Great food and great server 🥰 My server is MARISSA. She let me seat with a friendly smile 😊 then a few minutes she came back and ask my order and drink 🍹 my ordered food 🥞🥗came out quickly, hot, delicious and satisfied 👍. Marissa walked by frequently to check on me and ask if I need something or order something. She always make you feel comfortable. I highly recommend MARISSA for a reward due to her skills, a hard working server, and a great asset to this DENNY’s restaurant. To sum up, I will come again and enjoy my food.“

“Sadly, I would recommend the Denny’s in Moorpark and NOT the “new one” in Simi Valley. We were SO EXCITED to see that a Denny’s was coming back to Simi Valley - and for the first few months we enjoyed weekly breakfast and dinner once a week. Servers started changing (NOT a good sign) and sometimes it seems like they really didn’t want to be there. And WHAT on earth did they do to the gravy? I use to love a side order or biscuits and gravy - but the last three times it was watery and had absolutely NO flavor. Today we had lunch at the Denny’s in Moorpark and the food was excellent and the servers were attentive, friendly - and ones we have seen working there for years. That has to say something about how management is treating them. The last time we went to dinner at the Simi Valley Dennys - a nice, familiar waitress served us and I told her we had missed seeing her and she said her days were cut to just 2 days a week. She use to work at the Denny’s on Sycamore and also at the Coco’s on Los Angeles Ave. (now closed). We’d sure like to see MORE servers like her at the Simi Denny’s - any restaurant that has such a change over in staff is not a good sign. A happy, well treated server will tend to stay if the Manager is good and cares for their employees. I’ve lived in Simi for almost 50 years and many of my friends who also liked the Denny’s on Sycamore now go to the one in Moorpark instead of the one closer to “home”. That is such a shame. In general, we all like Denny’s menu and affordable prices - but our local Denny’s needs to care more about providing it’s customers with the best food and service possible. Please, Simi Denny’s - hire better staff - including cooks - and treat your staff better so they will want to stay - and will be happy to serve their customers instead of making us feel like our servers would rather be somewhere else.“

“I picked up a middle of the night breakfast order that I had placed online. This was the one time that I didn't check my food inside before my departure. When I got home and unpacked my to go containers, I noticed immediately that 3 of my 4 slices of turkey bacon were overcooked to the point where there was blackened and burnt pieces. I tried to eat one such piece, and it was inedible of course. I won't order turkey bacon to go ever again because I shouldn't have to remember to check to see if my bacon is over cooked before I leave the restaurant with my to go order.

I have ordered other meals to go and had no previous issues, so I'll chalk this disappointing incident down to a cook who was careless or inexperienced with cooking turkey bacon and will avoid this location going forward but not the chain overall.“
