“Once we booked with the Nixon Library, we were given a choice of 2 caterers that we could use. I was a bit worried when I found this out, as I wasn’t sure I wanted to be boxed in with specific vendors. White House catering was by far our favorite choice. Katie was a dream to work with. She answered all of my questions, helped me plan out “Operation Keep Grandma Nice”, and was just a great person to be able to work with. The staff on the day of were fabulous too. The server for our sweetheart table was the sweetest - constantly kept checking in on us to make sure we didn’t need anything, and was always nearby in case we did. They are definitely a well oiled machine, and everything ran extremely well. It is clear that they have this very fine tuned! Thank you again for everything and making sure all of our guests were taken care of and well fed! :)“

Nestled into a little strip mall, walked in late afternoon at a random hour, I was the only customer there. Very clean and inviting with a very interesting menu, primarily Paninis, which they specialize in, but I had my stomach set on a hot meatball sandwich.

As I was starting to order, one of the young employees standing behind the young lady I was speaking to was having a rather loud but very positive, laughing conversation with one of her coworkers. Suddenly, the gentleman whom I presume was the owner/manager, snapped at the young employee, chastising her VERY loudly from about 10 feet away, criticizing her for having a personal conversation while there was a customer in the store.

Honestly, the very rude and abrupt manner in which he spoke to his team member was far more offensive than her having had a personal conversation while I was speaking to her other team member. that gentleman needs to lead by example, and show respect if you want his team members to do the same. He could’ve easily spoken to her privately, or at least more quietly, instead he chose to yell at her out loud across the store while I was standing right there. not my business to tell others how to run their business, but he should be aware that his actions were far more offensive than hers. I quietly told her later I was sorry for the way she was spoken to and that she didn’t deserve that. She was just a youthful employee who had made a mistake. The way in which the gentleman spoke to her was uncomfortable for everybody, including me.

So the food… Overall, flavor was very good and everything was very fresh. However my “hot” meatball sandwich was very much not hot. The meatballs were warm, along with the sauce, but it was served to me on a cold roll with cheese that had not melted across the top fully. I asked the young man behind the counter if he could heat it up for me in the oven further since hot meatball sandwiches supposed to be… Well, hot. even though it took about 5 to 7 minutes to heat it up, when it was served back to me it was still just barely a bit warmer. Not sure what was going on but it was hotter just not piping hot like it should’ve been.

It was decent, but it tasted much better if it was served piping hot. Honestly, I was a bit uncomfortable being there, I was a bit concerned if I asked to have it heated again the young man would get in trouble. It was clear that he was a newer. So I ate it and just finished and left.

Since I was the only customer there at the time, and this incident is rather identifiable, I honestly probably won’t go back even though the food was pretty decent had potential for the Paninis I would’ve liked to have tried some other time. I’d rather go to a business that has good food AND treats its team members with respect, and at a minimum, leaving by positive example.
Everybody’s new at a job at some point, and food doesn’t always come out perfectly. In this case, it’s the manager/owner that will keep me from going back.“

I don't want the amazing kitchen staff to be affected by poor service by the rest of their team.

The service team missed an item from my order, yet again. It was not during rush hours or even near closing time. They even told me they remember they missed items from my last order when I started opening the bag to check. Before I could finish checking they even realized exactly which item was missing! It's quite bizarre!

Then you will have to wait however long it takes for them to prepare the missing item. And if you realize something missing after you get home then you will have to drive back to essentially out in the boonies to pick up again.

I still tipped them. To their credit, they did compensate by adding the missing item from my last order even before I arrived. I just wish I didn't have to wait for the missing item after a long drive (with more to drive after).

And a minor issue with online ordering from their website, it kept erroring out--I tried at least 4 different cards. They did take phone order instead. But I spent 20 minutes doing all this which otherwise should have taken 3 or so minutes.“

“Service was amazing!!!! Shout out to Alexis the best sever in the WORLD!! Checked up on the table a couple of time to get us what ever we needed. 10/10 service!!!!! AND FREE REFILL!!!!! “Jay’s Catering at Hangar 21 is a unique wedding venue to wow your guests with delicious food and helicopter rides. Jay’s menu has a wide range of food and you won’t even go wrong with ordering from the Classic. The bao buns, the beef wellington and the chicken and waffles for hors d'oeuvres were a hit. For the entree, it was the veggie rotolo bolzano. Besides the food being phenomenal, what stood out for us was the excellent service. Some pass-tray servers went out of their way to serve food to other guests during cocktail hour (like the mother-in-law) whom were not able reach it at first. The bar manager, Matt, also made our guests feel special. Lauren, our event specialist, was very patient with us officially booking Jay’s for our wedding (since living on the East Coast), but she closely communicated with us and answered our questions in a timely manner even with the time difference. She helped guide our cocktail, buffet and late night snack menu, she set up our helicopter grand entrance with the venue manager and she was flexible with last minute additions, like outdoor heaters. We love that Jay’s also has a wide array of venue additions and we went with the ceremony backdrop that completed the look in Hangar 21’s ceremony space. Overall, our experience with Jay’s Catering was nothing but the best.“

“Parked in this plaza to drop off oil after my boyfriend did an oil change on my truck, and happened to strike upon this tiny pot of gold called “La Carniceria Wagyu”!

It was lunch time and we decided to scope out the place and see what it was about. Upon entering, we were greeted by fresh cuts of meat and a widely enticing array of wagyu sandwich options. I ordered the Roast and my boyfriend got the Prime. We enjoyed our freshly made sandwiches at the park down the street.

Haven’t tried the chips and salsa yet, but I will definitely be coming back here for the halal options, wagyu beef cuts, homemade salsa selection and macaroni salad or potato salad freshly made. They also sell a haven of rubs for you to season your meat at this butcher shop.

“The portion size here is huge!!! Service was also fantastic, our cashier was so nice. Quaint restaurant but plenty of tables and seating. The salsa bar was also super clean. They have a peanut based salsa which was interesting!

California burrito - huge! Enough to feed 2 people. Next time I'm going to request no beans and rice in my California burrito. Typically fries and carne asada is sufficient in a California burrito, adding the rice and beans threw off the taste in my opinion.“

“Country Garden Caterers were a great addition to our wedding day! The planning process for our event was smooth thanks to Diana Perkins! She was a rockstar in helping us plan our menu, was very flexible and understanding, and always answered our questions through phone or email with a quick turn around. We ordered the BBQ brisket, Chicken Marsala, and Poached Salmon as our main entrees and they were all amazing! I would highly recommend all three options. Our guests still comment how wonderful the food was.“

“This is a very cute boba shop. They sell little items (not sure if they rent out small spaces for vendors or they are selling items other than boba drinks). I was little plants and Taylor Swift bracelets for sale. We ordered one of their popular drinks, mango passion fruit. The drink was very tasty. It was not overly sweet, and was very flavorful that it was full of flavors with the taste of mango and passion fruit! Service was fast. I will come back again!

The BBQ themed fare including tender brisket, tri tip with savory mushroom gravy and fresh baked cornbread was delicious. “This might be the best pizza I've ever had. Our office complex in Irvine started hosting bi-weekly food trucks at lunch and Hobo Co Pizza was here the first week. Never had a pizza from a food truck but was intrigued. The lady who took my order was super friendly and we had a nice little chat while I was ordering. Took only about 10 minutes for my order to be ready and I took it back to my office.

I was pleasantly greeted by a wonderful looking pizza on first glance, prepared the way I like it. Cooked perfectly with a thin crust with a nice thick, bubbly, slightly charred edge, certainly passed the visual inspection. It only got better from there, the first bite was incredible. The crust is the star of this pizza, has a nice light crisp on the outside and a perfect chew. The sauce is exceptional, both in flavor and application, not too much, not too little, just the right amount.

I can confidentially say this is the best pizza to ever grace the borders of Irvine, unfortunately it's not a permanent fixture here, although I hope they come back frequently. I'll certainly be letting Irvine Co. know how I feel about them and requesting they invite them back often.“
