The Ahwahnee Dining Room Reviews
Update:Mgmt reached out to me to discuss my concerns. Very positive conversation.
Our family stayed in one of the cabins on the Awahnee grounds. Air conditioning was not working even after someone in maintenance looked at it and declared it fine-usually wouldn’t be an issue but it was in the 90’s. The ac was a cheap portable unit. The room had mold growing on the walls as well as bug nests. The electrical also was less than desirable-half the lamps and plugs didn’t...read full review
We were very excited to visit Yosemite from Georgia.
Bc of the fires we tried to cancel our reservation which is for next Wednesday.
They are refusing to refund any money.
Do NOT use Travel Yosemite. Customer service is terrible! Very very disappointed in this experience.
Great staff who ensured that we had an enjoyable stay.

The Ahwahnee Dining Room offers a relaxing and unhurried breakfast experience with a stunning view. The dining room is a beautiful, majestic setting, and the staff is described as helpful and attentive. The server is knowledgeable about the history of Yosemite. The dinner and breakfast are served as buffets, which may not suit all guests, but the food is diversified and well prepared. The bar menu is limited, but a piano player adds a special touch to the evening.
Recent reviews highlight that meats are fantastic, tender, and perfectly cooked, and the mac and cheese is top-shelf. The Sunday Grand Brunch was described as amazing, with lots of delicious options for breakfast and lunch, including continental, fish, vegan, gluten free, and exotic desserts. The prime rib was extra tender, and servers were very attentive, even celebrating a birthday with a cupcake and candle. The experience at The Ahwahnee blends enjoyment with some disappointment. The ambiance of the historic hotel, with its Native American art and gorgeous woodwork, makes it a delight for the eyes and possibly justifies the steep prices. The Ahwahnee Cabernet and the piano player's performance were also well-received.
Guests noted that the buffet food is sometimes not fresh from the kitchen, and some dishes like Caesar salad and steamed asparagus were unremarkable. The mushroom soup served before the buffet was a highlight for many. The truffle deviled eggs, oxtail pasta, and crème brûlée were praised, while the salmon was a bit overdone. The dining room is magnificent, with views from the huge windows that are stunning. The service was described as okay, with the waitstaff being nice enough but making some mistakes and not being entirely professional.
