“I love this place because Aspen is quite high end and “showy” but this French Cafe brings you back to home. Wonderful staff. Terrific customer service despite how busy this tiny place is. You can tell locals come here for lunch often. This place is right off the beaten path and quite worth the stop! Skip Starbucks and come here! “It is with great pleasure I am able to successfully report that there is a fantastic lunch burrito in town. After a ten year search across the roaring fork valley for a quick, easy and tasty lunch burrito - Louis Swiss Bakery has really done it. Under the stewardship of incredible leaders, this team was able to synthesize a perfect twenty bite, take away chicken burrito which is finely complimented with a nice green salsa. Do I have any recommendations for how they can take this further? Of Course, and the phone lines remain open, but I don't want the potential for future progress to impede what a herculean accomplishment this burrito really is. Rice, black beans, a little cheese, some peppers and chicken, are composed into a well wrapped tortilla which is quickly seared (thank God), and double wrapped in both paper and tin foil for secure transportation. It's easy to grab, fits well in the hand, and can be picked up for the hot case at a moments notice. In the busy land of July in Aspen, this convenience is not only a privilege but a necessity. Although I do have a professional background in Burrito reviewing, I'll have to throw out the California oriented taqueria playbook here as elevation and a restrictive food shipping environment weight heavily in my judgement. You're right, we won't get the same flavor notes as Puentez Taqueria or El Farolito, but we have to work with what we have, and measure by local standards, and by these local standards along with the above outlined metrics of QUICK, EASY, and TASTY BURRITOS - Louis Swiss has accomplished a tour de force Lunch burrito which I will be a happy consumer of, for years to come.
