Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is a decent coffee house for grab and go, offering pretty good coffee. The baristas are friendly, fun, and sweet with great energy, providing great service. The store is really cute, though the Hawaiian theme is considered hoaky by some, as it is just a franchise. The seating and atmosphere are just okay, with some wet benches outside and too much AC inside for some tastes. It seems tailored more towards the takeout crowd, as they only had disposable cups even for coffee in.
It is a good option if you are in the area and want to grab a quick coffee or sit down with a friend. Specific drinks like the Ube Matcha latte and the three wave in a big kahuna size are highlighted as excellent. A nice feature is that the ice cubes in the iced coffee are made from coffee, so it does not get watered down. However, some food items like the scones may be frozen. It is not considered authentic or really good by all, but for many, it is a welcome alternative to chains like Starbucks. Guests are reminded to be respectful of others in the space.
