Coors Brewery Tour Brewery •
502 14th St, Golden

“The tour was a lot of fun! Easy to book online and they offer a military discount!

Very organized! Show up to the parking lot a little early and the gal at the shack will give you details on what to do. The gal that met us that day was so friendly! We parked and walked to the check in spot by the covered glass. We were asked to wait in the shade as it was a warm day.

Lockers are provided for a fee if you want to keep your stuff there otherwise, secure it somewhere before getting in line. I brought my ID and my phone.

A shuttle takes you to the entrance. You check in and they have you watch a short video before you go on the tour. We didn’t need an extra jacket or anything while we were there. The temperature was pleasant.

You get three beer samples along the way. I don’t think kids would find it interesting at all but someone brought their kids with them. Coors has kid friendly drinks for them.

Fun experience. Glad we did it!“

Mad Macks Brewery Brewery •
1921 Youngfield St #210, Golden

“If you’re looking for a true hidden gem in Golden’s craft beer scene, Mad Macks Brewing is it. Tucked away in the Applewood neighborhood at 1921 Youngfield St, this independent, small-batch brewery nails the perfect mix of bold experimentation and genuine neighborhood warmth.
The atmosphere is wonderfully cozy and inviting—think a laid-back taproom that’s dog- and family-friendly, with a welcoming vibe that turns strangers into instant friends (or at least friendly chatter over a pint). Whether you’re chilling inside with the “Agents of Chaos” crew or enjoying the patio under a big tree, it feels like a comfortable extension of your living room, but with way better beer. It’s ideal for date nights, casual hangs with the pups, or just unwinding after a day exploring Golden. The space has that perfect balance of intimate and lively, especially with live music or food trucks popping up.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they’re pouring. Whether you’re a seasoned beer nerd or just looking for something new, they’ll guide you to your next favorite. Bonus points for their community focus—one dollar from every pour of their quarterly trickster releases goes to local partners doing good work.
Mad Macks is the kind of place that makes you a regular after one visit. If you’re in the Denver area, do yourself a favor and stop by. Cozy vibes, wildly creative beers, and that unmistakable Colorado craft spirit—highly recommend!“
