I came about ordering a custom cake with only 3 days advance notice - I am also located in Austin, TX and needed the cake delivered locally to family in Aurora. I worked directly with Val and she was able to answer all of my questions over the phone, helped me design the cake (I was clueless!), took receipt of my custom image, custom messaging, and excellently crafted the creation of an excellent product! The cake itself was beautiful, delicious, and made an incredible addition to the surprise announcement. I called a few other bakeries in the area, but ultimately chose Cakes by Karen because of Val's excellent customer service skills and her assurance that their product would not only meet my expectations, but exceed all of my wants and needs - She was SO RIGHT! “Couple of outdoor tables. One game outside to enjoy. Couple of inside tables. Lots of topping choices. The place was clean but also it was empty when I went. One cashier. She was friendly and answered my questions about how often the flavors get changed out. She said about every week they change the featured flavor. The froyo is good and creamy. Seems to melt pretty fast though. So if you add too many toppings you'll have a puddle to drink in the bottom of your cup. I always get the cheesecake peices and fresh strawberry toppings when I go here. Always good and tasty. I spent $11+ dollars today just on my own cup. It was pretty full but I expected to pay between $8-$9.“

“5-29-2024 about 3pm2 beautiful ladies one younger gentleman at about 3pm today I stopped cause it's my birthday figured I'd treat myself since my day didn't turn out as planned. They just put a smile on my face made me feel special and I really needed that! I apologize for not catching names. I will definitely be back soon to update this properly! I hope you get this!
